Even if it was his time to go...

I was utterly sad for him... At first I thought he had died uselessly, for nothing. Such a great mind wasted that way.

Then I thought, it could not be otherwise. Tragic characters meet tragic endings. From a literary point of view, he had to die. Even if the thought revolted me.

Now, I think he did not die in vain. He died to send Voldemort onto a false trail, making him believe that he was now the true master of the Elder Wand. He died to fulfil the 2nd clause of the Unbreakable Vow he had made with Narcissa, i.e. protect Draco from any harm. Plus, he hoped to earn time for Harry. That way, he had protected the 2 boys he had been asked to protect.

He lived like a Slytherin, worked like a Ravenclaw, loved like a Hufflepuff and died like a Gryffindor. *sighing and weeping* Poor Severus...

he got what he deserved.

Not so much that he died and how he died, (even though I wish he hadn't been killed and it was a silly was to kill this character) but because of how he was setup by Dumbledore.

Deaths depress me. .-.

I was sorry for him ....but at least his story was made known after his death.

It was right she let him die, it fitted. But still it's sad

He died before readers found out about his past, so I was surprised that he died, and knew more was coming with the memories Harry collected, but the emotions weren't huge then.
