When they were younger, Snape didn't deserve Lily. He was getting into the Dark Arts at that time. Plus, Lily & James are my favorite couple!

Although Snape is one of my favorite characters and I think he is the braves character in Harry Potter, I like his story as it is. I like the fact that he loved one woman his whole life and never got to be with her... it's so beautifully sad - if I may say so.

I'm torn. I like her with Snape but I agree with LifesGoodx3, he may have been picked on when he was younger but he's the one who pushed her away. James didn't.

And James was willing to change himself to be the person Lily wanted to be with. Snape wouldn't have given up the Dark Arts for her.

It is a shame Lily didn't forgive Snape but I can see her reasons for it. But if she had been able to appreciate his torn upbringing compared with James pampered upbringing it might of helped her to see how humiliated he felt and well, maybe let him off....especially after he apologised a million times and was even prepared to sleep on the floor outside her dorm until she saw him. People say things in anger to those they love during times of great pain...but they don't mean it.

I can't stand the Snape/Lily pairing.

I know that Snape loved only her, and that at first he really had a chance at getting her...but he called her a 'mudblood'. Out of anger or not, there is no going back once you say that. That's the worst thing to say to a muggle born, and Snape knew it when he said it. It's a shame he never found anyone else though...

I think it was very sweet how Sanpe felt for her, but she obviously didn't feel the same, so I don't see them as a possibility.

I'm not saying I'd change how things worked out, but I think the Snape/Lily story is so much more beautiful than the James/Lily one.

As beautiful as a Severus/Lily pairing would be, I still say Lily/James. I don't think Lily and Severus were right for each other. And I don't really think Lily deserves Severus. I understand that him calling her a mudblood was extremely hurtful, but he was dealing with a lot between pressure to be a death eater and having to deal with the Marauders 24/7. Not to mention his terrible life at home.

I can understand her being angry and upset, but just giving up on him and NEVER once trying to talk with him about it and never forgiving him seems way too harsh to me.

Look at how much and how long he loved her. That's an incredible thing and she completely missed out on it.
