They HAVE to have it. Lily is what motivated Snape to do all that he did throughout the books, from being a bit (or a lot) of a douche to Harry, to protecting Harry, Lily was always the motivation. It just, あなた know, was.

I am an avid James/Lily shipper, but I have to say, after re-reading the chapter with Snape's memories, I cried a bit. I would be very upset if those didn't make it.

They had darn well better put it in! That was an entire chapter in the book, so obviously it was important. And without those memories it takes so much of the importance out of Snape's character...
