I didn't think either were incredibly sad. I didn't start feeling sorry for Jacob until Breaking Dawn. I felt sorry for Snape, but only because he lost his best friend, not because she didn't love him. I think he didn't really deserve Lily's love. He should have treated her better if he wanted her to love him back.

At least Jacob got to be with Reneesmee and live a happy life, while poor Snape drowned with guilt about Lily, who died without ever knowing that Snape loved her,and was forced to look after someone who looked JUST like his enemy,with his true love's eyes, taunting him for years. Now who's love is more sad?

I can't believe people went for Jacob and Bella. That was just pathetic lust...Snape loved Lily for all his life and was broken-hearted when she chose someone over him, and even more so when he inadvertently got her killed. His life was a horrific tragedy that no Twitard could understand...

This is probably going to be one of the only times that I pick something Twilight-related over something Harry Potter-related. Snape brought what happened on himself. He made the choice to call Lily a mudblood, and then he joined the Death Eaters. I don't feel sorry for the man who grew up to become a bully. I cannot sympathize with the man who could not let go of the past and bullied the supposed love of his life's son. Jacob, on the other hand, I feel a lot of sympathy for. Bella used and manipulated him. There was never true friendship on her end. She never even thought about Jacob's feelings. And no, I don't consider Breaking Dawn to be a happy ending. He ends up with the spawn of the woman he loved and his worst enemy? What the hell kind of ending is that? And he was in love with the child that Bella had not even got pregnant with yet the entire time? Really, Meyer? That was the best you could do?
