Few shows are quite as universally beloved and regularly watched as HBO\'s megahit
. And because fans have been watching the gruesome adventures of Westeros for six seasons, and possibly reading George R.R. Martin\'s novels before then, they have a vested interest in the fate of the characters. Now that
is nearing its final lap, plans have begun to set in motion for where each character will ultimately end up when the final two (shorter) seasons have aired. One of the biggest mysteries regarding final plots is Arya Stark, who has essentially been on her own since Ned lost his head in Season 1.
Maisie Williams, who plays everyone\'s favorite tomboy turned serial killer, recently spoke to PEOPLE Magazine, regarding where she wants her character to end up when the curtain closes on
I\'d love for her to be a bit of a lone ranger, I\'d love for her to be kind of like The Hound. I don\'t really want her to reunite with her family because I don\'t think that they\'re the same people anymore or that she\'s the same person anymore. I think she\'s better off on her own. I\'d love for her to be alive, actually, and be her own boss.
Wow. It turns out Maisie Williams doesn\'t want to see Arya reunited with what\'s left of her family. This is a pretty bold wish, and one that diehard fans might have issues with.
Arya Stark\'s journey has been truly solitary for her entire time on
; she fled King\'s Landing back in Season 1 to avoid the Lannisters taking her prisoner. And since then, we\'ve yet to see her interact with any of the main characters, with the exception of her journey with The Hound and a quick meeting with Melisandre. This didn\'t seem like a big deal at first, as the Starks were spread across Westeros, but now that the show is ending we\'re ready for some reunions to finally happen. Sansa and Jon came together this season, and Bran isn\'t that far away from Winterfell, but what about our girl Arya?
After being away in Braavos for two seasons, Arya made her triumphant return back to Westeros in order to slit the throat of Walder Frey after going full Shakespearean and feeding him two of his sons. This was a huge moment for
fans, not only because she crossed another name off of her list, but because it seems like her reuniting with Sansa and Jon was imminent. But with Maisie Williams campaigning for a long wolf Arya, and the actress obviously being more plugged in to the world of production, I\'m starting to worry that this may never happen.
Of course, Maisie Williams could just be pulling our leg and Arya could show up at Winterfell with needle to help defend her home from the impending Lannister forces. We\'ll just have to wait and see.
will return next spring with a shorter season.
