Lord of the Rings + Star Wars + Dragonriders of Pern = Eragon. =P

i never the first book, and that was the reason why; everything seemed too familiar.

There have been a lot of complaints that the story is cliche, and the characters are Mary Sue's. Plus I heard the author (Chris Paolini) is really full of himself, and considers his books at "J.R.R. Tolkien's level, at best" or something. They may just be rumors, but I'm not sure.

No it wasn't! They made their own adventures, it might just seem that way! LotR is still different and if no one can see that they have to read the book AND watch the movie. I seen LotR all 3 movies about 7 times and read the book and watched Erogon 3 times and read the book, so I can tell very easily that they are very different. Adventure is different, creatures, goal, destiny. That's what is most important in such movies and books. So if they have just a little bit something alike, that doesn't matter. Because like I said the adventure, the destiny, the goal and the creatures are different!

I tried to find a picture of Sheska's(from fullmetal alchemist) books.(the picture of her books as soon as Ed, Al, and their two idiot bodyguards walk inside, or the flashback thingy where she's climbing all over the place trying to find a book)

It wasn't. Eragon and the Lord of the Rings are 2 different books.
