this!!!! is whats wrong with people...

you add content for your fellow fans to enjoy..you add content cause you want to share. of course its nice to get a "thank you" now and again on a submission. or a prop for something but since no one owns a club anyway its not like its their place to thank you and giving you a fan of the month badge.if you do something on here expecting to be thanked like youre doing people a favor youre not doing it right.


sidenote: i read this and i thought it was directed at the f4. THAT i would agree with. i wonder why i NEVER get a thank you from the f4 for being here...

You aren't adding content 'for the creator' but to share it with other fans.

And if after you're done with your manners seminar ("lesson one: The polite way to wish people who disagree with you burn in hell") you decide to individually thank each of us for adding comments to your pick, you should know I only accept thanks in the form of cookies or lavish musical numbers.

Well, anywho, we asked for an explaination of this pick, and you still haven't given one. And germany explained her position, which I personally agree with. If you ask for opinions, don't get shitty when they don't support your worldview. So maybe if you can't handle a joke or two at your expense, maybe you should just shut the thank up.

@ecpjll: Do you realize how much time it would cost a creator of a popular spot to thank everyone who contributes something? And if you consider that many people here created several spots, that would mean that those people would have to spend all day on fanpop posting "thank you"s everywhere.
I also agree that the creator of a spot doesn't own in. He or she just started it and normally you don't even know who the creator of a spot is. People don't add stuff to a spot because they like the creator of it (unless maybe in a few unusual cases), but because they like the subject of the spot itself.
Of course it's nice of a spot creator (or rather of anyone who likes the spot) to thank someone if he happens to notice that this person contributed especially much or especially great stuff, but even in these cases it's definitely not rude if he doesn't! Rude is when someone insults others as scum and tells them to burn to hell.

You want recognition from the creator of a spot? What about all the people who rate, view and comment on the content you have added? Does that not count for something?

Maybe what your adding is REALLY bad! Haha oj! Yeah the only recognition you get is if your fellow fans like it they will become a fan of your content! Is that not enough? How about you create a spot, one that will possibly get a couple of thousand fans and try thanking them each time something is added! Also dont forget alot of original spot the creators have left Fanpop now! Before you go off having a go at people consider why they are not taking the time to personally say hey good job!

I have been thanked for adding stuff to spots before, I even got one from Dave (was totally excited when I saw that) but I don't actually expect a thank you. I add stuff because I want to. Wanting a thank you for adding content to share with others makes you a needy person. Fanpop definitely does not need more needy people.

A simple solution to your frustrations would be to thank yourself for every contribution.
You will feel the gratification of being thanked, and the nobility of knowing you have thanked a person.

Later on, you may possibly realize how tiresom and nonessential it is and begin to not care, or progress even further and learn to detest being thanked for nothing particularly nurturing.

Umm...I don't think you should get a thank you for adding content to a spot you joined so you COULD add content. If you want to be thanked, then stop adding content. Props and medals when you get them should be your thank-you. Everytime you add a question or an image are you supposed to have all 5,000 fans in that club post on your wall thank-you for something they may not have even enjoyed. Not everyone likes all the things everyone posts, I'm just saying.
