yeah that always confuses me cuz i can be like on the bottom page on a spot u know the top 5 but then not even be in the first page of top contirbutors, i juts always think it should be to that spot!

The contributor's list on any given spot is an indication of that spot ONLY.
However, the reason someone might be 1st contributor on a spot but have no medal is because the system has not yet been updated accordingly.
Eg: I was either 1st or 2nd contributor on the Australia spot for many months but did not get a dedicated medal till a few weeks ago.
