An Open Apology... and Some Gripes

It has come to my attention that my gift for words has been failing me miserably these past few days. What I mean to impart is coming off as bitchiness rather than humerous または helpful.

For that, I want to apologize. Especially to Harold, who works hard for this site and didn't deserve to feel like he was under attack at all. I'm an idiot. I would offer to smooch and make up, but I'm too old to be getting beat up によって anyone's wife...

A Guide to Making a Club

Since some people seem to be asking this 質問 a lot, here is an easy step によって step guide to making a club.

First, go to the 上, ページのトップへ of any page あなた are on. あなた will see the words fanpop! what are あなた a ファン of? あなた will have to click on it.

It will take あなた to the main page as shown below. Where あなた will see different topics being shown. If あなた look to your right, あなた will see the クイズ polls.

Just scroll down until あなた reach the bottom of the クイズ question, あなた will see a button that says Create a New Club Click it to continue.

Fanpop- Home, Sweet Home!

When I first clicked onto Fanpop, I felt like something was a little different. It wasn't like MySpace または YouTube (not that I have anything against the people who use them), where I normally get the feeling that people I don't know are looking at my profile. I felt like I could message the users on here and not get a rude または creepy message back. I could comment, rate, and make picks without anyone (besides the occasional bad-mannered user) commenting on my own opinions. I could add things and feel really great when someone else gave me リスペクトまたはコメントしました on how thankful they were for that item. And, I am so glad that ファンポップ has stayed this way! I feel so comfortable on here and only know 4 other fanpoppers in real life. I just wanted to compliment all of the wonderful users on how great they are on making this an awesome site to be on! あなた are all part of the reason I am now very addicted to Fanpop!

Have あなた ever gone to a spot and seen 3 リンク with the exact same title? Have あなた ever seen a video of an annual event and wondered if it was from this 年または last years show? Gone through a whole video on a spot and wondered why it was there? The problem is generic titling. There is a very simple solution for this that I will explain to あなた and help あなた put into play in your everyday Fanpopping.

Have I read this 記事 before??? I just can't tell with this generic title!

もっと見る generic titles might be ok for pictures (I mean really how specific can あなた get with a picture.... Amy Adams...

When I first started on ファンポップ I didn't exactly know what ファンポップ really was, I just was on ファンポップ so I could see 動画 of my favourite tv shows.
But then I noticed that あなた could do other things like answering picks and I started to do that.
Some picks made me laugh really hard, other made me think about things that I've never really thought about.
I did that for a while and it was (and still is) really fun to do and then I began to notice that when I couldn't sleep, または just was bored, I was making picks in my head.

IM and Chat are Back!

This is a quick guide to using the new IM and Chat beta launch.

Rooms Tab:
The global-chat is open to all registered fans.

There is another room that is reserved for users of a certain level, and you'll also see that in the Rooms tab. In the past, we've had a few ランダム people come in and hit on the people in the chat rooms, so the reserved room should be relatively free of such riff-raff.

Contact Tab:
Setting custom status messages: click on the pencil, and type away!

Turning off chat: Click on the bubble 次 to "I am online" and click on the red "Log out" option on the menu.

I had actually planned on making an 記事 about ファンポップ a few months 前 and never had time and I still don't.
So instead of me just going into it full force detail like I planned I'm just gonna skim through it.
I'm 書く this because I've been on ファンポップ since 2011 and it has been amazing, but in the past 年または so ファンポップ has turned into a ghost town. It's so bad even some of the biggest クラブ aren't really active anymore.
It really makes me upset because I can't even go to most of the クラブ that I use to visit because...

Everybody knows that there are famous persons. セレブ which are know worl wide, that appear in TV, in magazines... One of the many places where あなた can find those celebrities, is Fanpop! A ファンポップ Challenge: Pending Spots

As most of あなた know, there is a special holding pen for newly-created spots -- the link arena. Spots remain there until:
a) they have a significant amount of links, 動画 & images
b) there are enough ファン to deem it 人気 ... または at least raise its status out of the 'geek stuck in the trash can' level.

Often I roam around, looking at these new creations, trying to help out those poor spots that have no videos, links, picks, または画像 to their name. But there are still spots there that were born over a 年前 with little to no リンク to make it interesting enough to join.

I heart pick additions! Truly!

Just out of curiousity, how do people feel when they've created a pick, find pictures, spell- and grammar-proof the question, finally send it out to the world -- and two weeks later discover new choices that r ovrwhielminley mispeled, say "all of the above" または "none of the above", または are green numbers among all of the pretty pictures?

Well, あなた can read between the lines for my opinion. But I don't know whether this is a personal irritant または whether many もっと見る besides me feel this way.

Of course, there is a time and place for everything. Crazy_chica added a "None of the above" option to my link...

Why is it on 画像 that there are so many もっと見る閲覧数 than there are people who rated it? It makes me really sad, because I like to see what people think of the content I add. Now, I realize that there are people who view 画像 a もっと見る than once, but what I don't understand is when some of my 画像 have 87 閲覧数 and only 2 people (one of which is me) who rated it. In the past I used to be guilty of this, however after adding a lot of content I realized that how good it made me feel when people took the 2 秒 it takes to rate my content. ファンポップ is for fun

ファンポップ is supposed to be a fun place for people to share their ideas, ask 質問 and find out about some information, but lately ファンポップ is just used for people to like あなたまたは for あなた to be the best.

I know everybody likes being good and having lots of ファン but that's not the point of fanpop.Infact one person even did a pick that 発言しました do あなた like me!

I also have seen that their have been alot of arguments over ファンポップ in alot of spots which is ruining it for everyone.
