Okay, normal...

Okay, so I was on an spot today. Now here's page 1. Normal, fans: the same. Now lets look at page 2. And this happened on other pages. And it's real that I didn't edit. So just look. Facebook? または Fanpop?

I was quite shocked によって the changed look of Fanpop, it looks as if it were Facebook, I have nothing against a few changes, banner designs? okay I would be fine with that, no もっと見る Icons? I would be fine with that too. But changing the whole site is a little much, don't あなた think? Not that theres anything wrong with it, but I do believe that I joined Fanpop, not Facebook. All I'm saying is that I believe this change was much to sudden, rushed if あなた would like. Thats all I'm trying to say, I don't want to be reported for this, so please understand that this is just my opinion. Tell me what あなた think of the new Fanpop.

Ratings: We Can Do So Much Better

Ratings. They sound good in theory. What better way to know how good content is? Unfortunately, the reality is far, far different:

Trolls - We've all seen them. They rate things a one, just because they can.

Non-Raters - There is a LOT of awesome content on ファンポップ that goes unrated.

Friends and Enemies - フレンズ get high ratings. Enemies get low ratings. It happens.

Rating Unfairly - People dish out 1-star ratings to 画像 and 動画 containing characters/pairings they don't support.

Rating the Uploading Process - Content gets rated based on HOW it was uploaded instead of the quality of the actual...

This section of my guide for ファンポップ users details the ratings system and was last edited on 26 May 2008.

As with any web site, ファンポップ is only as good as its content. Some content - what I think of as the soul of the site - is generated によって users in the fora and in コメント on the rest of the content and cannot be rated. But the rest of the content - the body of the site - has a ratings system. The whole principle of the ratings system is a democratic one: if enough people vote, the really qualified items rise to the top.
