I tried to leave fanboyism out of this as much as i could considering the fact that Gajeel is my 秒 fav character in FT :)

lolz at this, okay the Gajeel getting natsu out of the way, cannot really be considered lightning timing, i'll give あなた 2 reasons why, first, The raging bolt didn't descend with lightning speed, it descended as a huge ball much slower than the normal lightning but still fast enough that it was a good speed feat, though i would have loved it if it were lightning timing, it'd improve Fairy tail speed in general pre-time skip, anyways the 秒 reason is, Gajeel has the ability to extend his arms, he could have simply extended it and gotten natsu out of the way, so we don't actually have proof he got there and took him out, thats for the speed issue. if u wanted a bring out a real Gajeel speed feat, u should have used when he took a bolt for Levy, that should have been lightning speed, anyways gray's ability to stop racer twice is also a speed feat, racer's magic basically allows あなた to 移動する in slow motion, and gray while he should have been in slow motion was fast enough to create a rampart. Gray must often doesn't specialize in moving around so its understandable that he doesn't have many speed feats, but i don't see Gajeel having a speed advantage over gray. Yomazu can be mid-tier but he's nowhere near as strong as any of the 7 kin, he 発言しました so himself, WIZARDS FAR GREATER THAN WE ARE AND LEAGUES ABOVE US, something like thatt, meaning the power difference was massive, and remember Gray was able to defeat the strongest of the 7 kin, admittedly he had the character change no Jutsu on his side but he was still able to defeat her with the gungnir. Yomazu did cut gajeel with his sword true but he had cut him before just with words, and we know the words are only as strong as the amount of magic power used, gray is definitely going to cut gajeels iron skin, Natsu's roar was capable of cracking the iron skin and Gray is able to tank natsu's roar without problems, he did so when fukuro ストール, 盗んだ DS magic, though it might have been weaker, he also did so against natsu in the daphne arc, but i expect you'd say its a filler, but know that fillers don't contradict information または feats thats appear in canon. あなた exolained it like u were explaining a fight, true Gray's shield is one sided, and his back is exposed, but if Gajeel makes the mistake of jumping, he gets caught with a super freeze arrow, and we know gray is incredible fast at doing magic, usually doing them in a 秒 and even faster, and the super freeze arrows are so fast that even though racer could slow it down in his area, it still hit him, and we know its extremely difficult to dodge attacks in mid-air especially one that fast. so no i don'' think gray is open for attack when using ice shield, because he has the reaction to attack people of they try to get on his free side. If it did come down to hand to hand fight no magic, lol gray wins easy, Gajeel's hand to hand is only complimented によって magic, even when he held down dorom anim, it was with magic, gray's magic type doesn't afford him such strength any power feat he shows is his normal strenght alone, also gray doesn't usually use magic against weaker opponents, he tanks their magic and takes them out hand to hand, so if it came to a hand to hand slug fest gray, wins and without magic gray has the better durability, によって a lot, as he was shown to beat the shit out of Lyon hand to hand after taken damage, he also survived being impaled によって Lyon and continued fighing, he tanked numerous attacks from bixlow without magic, something that was capable of taking out Kawazu with magic , he tanked numerous hit without magic and was still able to jump up land a hit on bixlow before passing out. So no Gajeel doesn't win, gray has the better chance because his magic affords him a lot of flexibilty just like erza's. But i was being kind in that i like Gajeel, which is wh i 発言しました in 10 fights gray wins 2 and gajeel 1, but 与えられた how gray's magic can be used in different ways, he actually has a much better chance than i gave him, but i still stick to the 2-7-1 in favour of Gray. firstly I still stand によって my コメント that Grays biggest issue will be actually hitting Gajeel. sure he could freeze him but gray has two abilities that completely freeze his entire opponent. 間欠泉 and obviously Freeze. my issue is that あなた make it sound like gajeel will just stand there and get frozen. Lyon could avoid 間欠泉 no problem pre timeskip so Gajeel should not have a problem with that. Gray has speed feats but sorry none of them really out do Gajeels. so Gray freezing Gajeel is a no-no, thus the super freeze ARROW/アロー is probably not going to work. Racer was standing still when Gray shot the ARROW/アロー so he couldn't react, Gray had an easy target because he was outside the slow zone. if Gajeel is darting around Gray in close combat grays only options are his sword attacks to probably get some distance. but then again those rely on speed. and with the speed feats Gajeel has pulled gray isn't getting in a hit. also with the Laxus Raging Bolt he did grab Natsu and Jump out of the way, he didn't extend his arm. In a fist fight, gray is good but Gajeel is backed up によって the fact that he his heavy and fast. Natsu stated this. his punches hit harder than grays because he is naturally heavy and he could keep up with Gray speed wise. so in a fist fight with no magic I gotta go with Gajeel. Durability wise, Luke I 発言しました Gray has good feats but Gajeels are much better. taking the brunt of Laxus' abuse when he just joined FT, taking the Heavenward Halberd which would have defeated Natsu (both of these feats were Laxus' attacks so him tanking them is pretty beast) the fight with Dorma Anim, Yomazu and Kowazu- no matter how あなた look at it, whilst being bombarded with attacks Gajeel still pulled off a win in 2 v 1 conditions. and I dont think Gray can take a SWORD STABBED DOWN THE LENGTH OF HIS ARM. so Gajeels durability feats are better. but I'm willing to say that they are equal in durability because Grays feats are pretty damn good too. also if filler arcs do count are あなた forgetting that Gajeel has another edge. the Karma Demon Iron Spiral. this was strong enough to smash the core of the dragonoid so it COULD get through rampart. and if worse comes to worse we know Gajeel will simply flatten Gray with his iron poles. we know he can detach them and produce gargantuan poles as seen when he vandalised the FT building.

a big mistake u are making is that aside gray's speed, the speed of his magic is what gajeel has to contend with, there is no way Gajeel is dodging a super freeze ARROW/アロー while in mid-air, あなた say gajeel will have no problem dealing with ice -geyser, yeah right. Lyon overcoming the ice 間欠泉 was an ice magic thing, notice that he was emanating cold air, like vapour when he broke it, only peole that have destructive aura's can break it または peole that are just leagues stronger. What Lyon did to natsu is pretty much what Gray is gonna do to gajeel. あなた say gray can't hit Gajeel, how do あなた figure, あなた think Gajeel moves faster than gray's magic??. Gajeel's magic is fast that elfman can keep up while having only arm take-over, meaning he didn't even have beast sense and all, normal gajeel's attack can be dodged または caught によって normal human senses. Anyways gray;s magic is very fast, so fast that it was able to stop first phase racer who is loads faster than gajeel. Now racer's magic slows down sense of time in an area, so when magic is done, he is able to easily evade it so long as the magic enters his area, now gray's super freeze arrow, entered the area but it was so fast that the time-effet didn't stop it from bliting racer, even racer コメントしました on gray;s magic speed and his 全体, 全体的です speed, also gray was able to dodge a hit from racer, this puts his speed very high. so no, gajeel doesn't have higher speed especially not against Gray's magic, the super freeze ARROW/アロー was too fast, and did u see the distance it blitzed racer from, it was unreal. several kilometers, now that is real speed, i think they calced it at Mach 14 または something though i don't believe any of those calcs since its impossible to use normal law of physics in something fictional especially when it contains magic, anyways Mach 14 thats about 14 times the speed of sound. The misconception u are making is that u think gray need to 移動する to battle, the thing about gray is he has so many ranged attack that fighitng from a distance is a speciality for him, whether Gajeel darts around または not, he;s still gonna be attacked によって lances, saucecrs,and other weapons that are faster than his pre-timeskip speed. In a fist fight without magic gray wins and he is able to keep up with Gajeel, i just revisted the fight against racer to 確認 some things, Gray has the reaction to follow first phase racer, and racer's bikes were made for his speed, meaning someone who doesn't have reactions that fast would be blitzed によって how fast the bikes 移動する and would be unable to control it something which gray did and racer complimented him for. Gajeel didn't take any abuse from laxus, whats 2 lightning attack, and this wasn't even dragon lightning, natsu took a lot もっと見る when he was fighting laxus before gajeel came, あなた say. Gajeel pulled of a two on 1 true, but those two don't measure up to one of the 7 kin, meldy would have killed them both, its why i was disappointed with the fight, i expected Gajeel at full power to have done better. True Gajeel had a sword stabbed the length of his arm, but gray got impaled in the abdominal region によって lyon, thats a much better feat, everyone they've shown being アナと雪の女王 through によって an attack, によって アナと雪の女王 through i mean an attack that freezes your entire abdominal region alone and continues on like the gungnir used on ultear または the one used on sugar boy i think, they always go down, but gray wasn't アナと雪の女王 through, he was impaled and he was still able to keep fighting, thats better than gajeels. The demon poles can be made larger true but they'd probably be so slow that they only hit inanimate objects which would be why he doesn't use it in battle, gray's Ice lance are better and faster.

Firstly, we are forgetting that Gajeel is very versatile and fast in his magic too. He can make his legs, arms and entire body steel so he has もっと見る attacks that would deal heavier damage to Gray. Secondly, when it comes to speed あなた are talking about Grays REACTION SPEED. This is very different to MOVEMENT SPEED. If Gajeel has moved so fast that he outpaced a lightning based attack, im sorry but Grays attacks dont make that cut. The super freeze ARROW/アロー no matter how あなた look at it is not hitting Gajeel. No matter who あなた are, it is incredibly difficult to use archery in close quarters situations, so if Gajeel gets close and Gray tries to use super freeze ARROW/アロー in his effort to aim he will get murked によって Gajeel. No offence but i dont know what planet あなた come from if あなた think that it is harder to fight with a wound in your abdomen than it is to fight with a blade stabbed down the length of your arm, then あなた snapping that blade but not removing it then going to use one of your strongest moves. No Gajeel definitely has the better durability feat. Next, if under the weirdest circumstances, Gajeel is about to be hit によって the super freeze arrow, it wont finish him off. The super freeze ARROW/アロー is not as strong as the Iron God Sword または the Iron Spiral so Gajeel can counter it. Even if those moves are not available, Gajeel can use the scales to decrease the amount of damage dealt. Gajeel definitely took abuse from Laxus. Two lightning attacks? Are we forgetting that he DROPPED Erza with ONE lightning attack. And like Erza, Gajeel got up and shrugged it off after his awesome speed feat. In a fist fight it is far from a stomp and far from grays victory. Gajeel has much better physical strength. Like i 発言しました in the fight with Dorma Anim. It doesnt matter if he used magic to hold it dow, so that means it was only the magic that was strong. He obviously needed physical strength to hold it down and Gray doesnt have any feat where he has held down something of that size. In that same arc Gajeel also shattered the Bustermarm with HIS BARE HANDS. Gray cant do that and has no physical strength feats suggesting he can. Btw i dont really think the Gray/Ultear fight was even legit. It was cool seeing ice make from her but really? If she has magic that can evaporate ice and was punking gray why didnt she keep using it? Gray only has limited blood so he couldnt use that for long. But that is a topic for another time. What my point is is that the Gungnir would probably not even work. First he used it underwater so we dont tell if he can even use it on land. Secondly Ultear's movements would have been slow because they were underwater so it would have been hard to dodge. If Gray can use it on land i think that Gajeel could avoid it. Remember that whilst Gajeel will have to avoid grays attacks, Gray will have to avoid Gajeels. I have no doubt that Gray can dodge Gajeels attacks but there is no way he will be able to use his strongest attacks like Super Freeze Arrow, Gungnir, Ice Bringer and Ice Cannon. So overall, Gajeel wins because they are equal in durability, i will go as far as to say equal in speed, both battle savvy, Gajeel has higher attack power and physical strength, a lot of Grays strongest attacks rely on him being in a stationary position (from what we have seen) and they are equal in versatility (Grays magic is fast, but Gajeel can produce クラブ and swords from his legs and all over) Oh and Gajeel has the もっと見る USEFUL defence, not stronger defence, もっと見る USEFUL. 全体, 全体的です Gajeel is on top.
