When jasper is telling his story to Bella...

I am confused when jasper tells his story. edward says 'emmett and i were out hunting. this scar covered weirdo came along, towing this little freak' または something to that effect. but doesw jasper and alice go to the cullen house and talk to carlisle, esme and rosalie または do they go into the woods first and talk to emmett and edward?
personally, my minds eye says that they go to the woods but what actually happens??????
