It could be argued that the Joker is the most iconic villain in all of fiction. He first appeared in 1940. He was meant to just be one of the many villains バットマン encountered. However, the Joker was a character with so much potential that he managed to constantly re-appear in バットマン comics. He's gone on to become Batman's arch enemy. In addition to that, he has had several live action adaptations, two of which won the Oscar.

In 1939, バットマン first appeared. During that year, バットマン was on his own. The 次 year, バットマン was 与えられた a sidekick, Robin, the boy wonder. Robin quickly became a prominent character in the バットマン franchise. Robin didn't appear in either of the バットマン films directed によって Tim Burton. There were plans to have Robin in the 1st film, but he ended up being cut out. History repeated itself with the 2nd film.
