On Saturday 29th September 2012, we ロスト two of the Doctor’s companions, the Ponds. Naturally, we were all sad at the prospect of never seeing Amy and Rory again but we all knew this was the whole concept of the 表示する – change and renewal, therefore we all knew that we would meet a new companion in the not too far future. On クリスマス 日 2012, we were 与えられた a new adventure of the Doctor’s which would create a whole new mystery for Series Seven Part Two. This mystery as we all know was Clara Oswald, portrayed によって Jenna-Louise Coleman. So, roughly three months later Doctor Who returned starring Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman.

EPISODE ONE: The Bells of Saint John によって Steven Moffat
I and many other people have noticed many coincidences with this episode as it re-uses concepts from 前 episodes such as ‘The Idiot’s Lantern’, ‘Forest of the Dead’ and ‘The Wedding of River Song’ but were these concepts reused in a good way? Well, in my opinion, yeah. I say this because I actually really enjoyed this episode, sure it’s not perfect but it’s fun and exciting. Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman were on 上, ページのトップへ form as they have great on-screen chemistry within the episode, Miss Kizlet as portrayed によって Celia Imrie was a refreshing villain – she was very cunning and classically evil. But her end was very unsettling, as it shown the power that the Great Intelligence actually possessed; he’d been influencing her since she was a child and that is terrifying. But I do admit that I feel as though this episode should have been a two-parter as the Great Intelligence should have had もっと見る screen-time than he gotten. Nonetheless, ‘The Bells of Saint John’ was a very enjoyable episode which I will gladly watch again.

EPISODE TWO: The Rings of Akhaten によって Neil Cross
‘The Rings of Akhaten’ is a very, very dividing episode. Many people hated the episode but many people liked the episode. I am the latter, I loved this episode. Neil クロス is a very diverse writer; he is the creator of the hit-crime 表示する ‘Luther’, he wrote the screenplay for the horror movie, ‘Mama’ and of course he wrote another episode of Series Seven but the fact that the guy who wrote all these dark pieces of media could write this beautiful episode is just amazing, it’s just a testament to the guy’s writing. The cast were all brilliant especially Matt Smith, but that’s not short-cutting Jenna as she put in a very ハート, 心 warming performance in this episode too. Such as when she show’s support for Merry as portrayed によって young actress, Emilia Jones. The array of aliens in the episode was also amazing, I knew the production team 発言しました there were going to be many aliens in the episode but I was truly surprised によって the designs as they all looked as though they could be real aliens. It’s not all good though, I feel as though the villains were underused. The Vigil were very sinister but they never left an impact because of the amount of screen-time they were 与えられた along with the Mummy and Grandfather. Although I think the villains were underused, I still think it’s a magnificent episode.

EPISODE THREE: Cold War によって Mark Gatiss
‘Cold War’ in my own personal opinion, was a pretty decent episode and that it was a great return for the Ice Warriors after almost forty years. I thought that Mark Gatiss wrote a great script full of drama, horror and pure tension. Although the episode wasn’t truly scary to me, I asked one of my neighbours what she thought about the episode and she 発言しました that she was terrified (everyone to their own opinion). I think the production team deserve a round of applause for remaking the デザイン of the Ice Warrior because it looks absolutely fantastic. Very much like the classic series デザイン (minus the lego hands, which was an improvement) so that gets リスペクト from me because in the new series the redesigns of classic monsters can deviate from the 情報源 material can deviate quite a bit (e.g. the Sontarons and the Silurians), so well done to the production team. I think the episode was really lacking when it came to the side characters because apart from Professor Grisenko and General Skaldak, all the characters including the Captain were boring and I didn’t really care when they died (apart from the Captain who didn’t die). But still, the episode had really great performances all around, from the main characters to the side characters. It was a good episode all around.

EPISODE FOUR: Hide によって Neil Cross
After ‘The Rings of Akhaten’, I was really looking フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして ‘Hide’ as it was written によって Neil クロス and I can wholeheartedly say I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this episode, Neil Cross’s script was so…brilliant, all the characters were so relatable and I can honestly say that if I was younger, I would have been behind the sofa as I was kind of creeped out, the episode started out very eerie. Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman were brilliant in this episode, I thoroughly enjoyed their performances especially the ‘We’re all Ghosts to you’ scene and I thought クロス had done a fantastic job 書く that scene. Dougray Scott and Jessica Raine were fantastic as Professor Alec Palmer and Emma Grayling, I don’t usually like romance but the chemistry between the two felt very real and I truly cared about them becoming a couple. I think the episode dropped a bit once we discovered the truth about the so called ghost but I still really enjoyed the episode and I can’t wait to see Neil クロス return in Series 8.

EPISODE FIVE: Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS によって Stephen Thompson
Let me just get this out of the way and say that I really don’t like this episode; in fact I think that it’s terrible. Apart from Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, the performances were terrible, the worst being によって Mark Oliver who portrayed Bram バン Baalen (the tall one). I also thought the dialog was off too, sometimes when one of the brothers would speak, I would honestly say ‘Did he just say that?’ because I thought the dialog between the brothers was awful. Although it was very nostalgic hearing the voices of 前 Doctors and companions as well as seeing mementoes from the past, it just didn’t make up for the rest of the episode which in my opinion was a very bad episode. The only things I can honestly say that I can praise are the opening scene and when the Doctor confronts Clara about Oswin and Victorian Clara. I’m sorry if I may have disgruntled anyone hearing this, it’s just my opinion.

EPISODE SIX: The Crimson Horror によって Mark Gatiss
Happy 100th Episode of New Who! But was it any good? Hell Yes! I’d go as far as to say this is Mark Gatiss’s best episode for Doctor Who so far. I really enjoyed this episode if あなた haven’t guessed already; I just thought that it was a great way to mark 100 episodes of New Who. Although ‘The Crimson Horror’ adds many ideas to the 全体, 全体的です plot, it still manages to have great pace and a terrific story, I can’t help but just admire the episode as many episodes have tried and failed to do so (e.g. ‘The Beast Below’ and ‘The Curse of the Black Spot’). I’ve got to be honest with あなた guys, I loved every character in the episode (I know, hard thing to do). Although this episode is classed a Doctor-Light, I can’t help but disagree with that because once Jenny found the Doctor, he became the main character of the episode. Matt Smith was brilliant, Jenna was good in the scenes she was in and the Paternoster Row Gang were just weird and wonderful as ever (I 愛 those characters). Now on to Ada and Winifred Gillyflower as portrayed によって real-life mother and daughter, Rachel Stirling and Dame Diana Rigg. I loved these two characters, although the two were mother and daughter they were complete opposites; Ada was compassionate and kind whereas Mrs Gillyflower was fierce and evil. I loved Ada whereas I loved to hate Winifred and I really liked that dynamic between the two of them. So overall, ‘The Crimson Horror’ was one of my favourite episodes from Series Seven.

EPISODE SEVEN: Nightmare in Silver によって Neil Gaiman
Another very controversial episode from Series Seven Part Dos and yet again, I loved this episode rather than disliked it. As あなた should already know if あなた read my Series Six article, ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ was my favourite episode from that series, so naturally I was highly anticipating this episode as it was also written によって Neil Gaiman. And I can honestly say I was not disappointed as I loved this episode, I think Gaiman wrote a great script yet again and the only thing I disliked about this episode were the children (which I have a funny suspicion that Moffat wrote Artie and Angie into the episode) but they weren’t in the episode a lot so they didn’t get on my nerves as much as they did other people. Matt Smith pulled off a phenomenal performance as he changed personalities between the Doctor and Mr Clever, Jenna-Louise Coleman was fantastic as Clara and Warwick Davis is as likeable in this episode as he is in anything he’s in. Now let’s get to the important thing in this episode, the Cybermen. I just want to say that the Cybermen are my favourite monsters in the Whoniverse, so when I say that this is my favourite Cybermen story of the new series, I mean it. I just think that until ‘Nightmare in Silver’ the Cybermen were never truly represented in the new series. ROTC/TAOS were really good episodes, AOG/D made the Cybermen look weak, TND was a good episode but the Cybermen weren’t as creepy as they should be and CT turned the Cybermen into a joke. So in my opinion, ‘Nightmare in Silver’ is the best Cybermen story in the New Series.

EPISODE EIGHT: The Name of the Doctor によって Steven Moffat
In Series One, we were almost exterminated によって the Daleks. In Series Two, we watched the Daleks and the Cybermen battle to the Death. In Series Three, we were conquered によって the Master. In Series Four, we were invaded によって the Daleks and imprisoned によって Davros. In Series Five, we witnessed the gathering of the Pandorica Alliance. In Series Six, we were cornered によって the Silence in Area 52. And in Series Seven, we met the Great Intelligence at Trenzalore…bit underwhelming compared to the 前 finales. But was the episode underwhelming? Not really, it was quite a decent episode – not perfect but decent. Whatever あなた say about Steven Moffat, like him または hate him (I’m personally in the middle) he’s a very ambitious man. I mean taking the Doctor and his companion to the Doctor’s grave which holds the key to the Doctor’s time stream, Holy Hephaestus! That’s quite ambitious. Anyway, I just thought I’d say I 愛 Matt Smith in this episode – that scene when he’s crying because of Trenzalore, that scene rocked me to my very core. He was brilliant throughout the entire episode, from beginning to end. Jenna-Louise Coleman and Alex Kingston were great as Clara and River; I thought they were a great team in the episode. The Paternoster Row Gang were used in a great way but I honestly think that Jenny should have died. Don’t get me wrong, I like Jenny - I just think there would have been a lot もっと見る tension in the episode had she died. I also think that the Great Intelligence was a weird choice for a villain because the Doctor has only ever thwarted its plans, twice in the Classic Series and twice in the New Who. So I think that someone like the Master would have been a better choice for ‘The Name of the Doctor’ as he has a personal vendetta against the Doctor, so it would make もっと見る sense as the Doctor has defeated the Master countless times. Oh and the cliff-hanger at the end of ‘The Name of the Doctor’, it never once crossed my mind that John Hurt would appear at the end of the episode. I was completely shocked, as was no1drwhofan when I talked to her straight after the episode aired. I can’t wait to find out もっと見る about the Hurt Doctor in the Fiftieth Anniversary Special on November 23rd.

So overall, I really enjoyed Series Seven Part Two (with one exception), sure it wasn’t perfect but neither is any series in Doctor Who history, heck in world history. Don’t hate me for disliking episodes あなた loved, because it’s just my opinion; if people didn’t have different opinions life would be boring. Down below is how I rated the episodes within the entirety of Series Seven, part one and part two.

1: Nightmare in Silver
2: The Crimson Horror
3: A Town Called Mercy
4: The Rings of Akhaten
5: 恐竜 on a Spaceship
6: Hide
7: The Name of the Doctor
8: The Bells of Saint John
9: Cold War
10: Asylum of the Daleks
11: The 天使 Take Manhattan
12: The Power of Three
13: Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

Anyway thanks for 読書 my 記事 and it means a lot to me if あなた enjoyed 読書 my thoughts, hopefully あなた guys agree with me but I don’t expect あなた too. I honestly understand if あなた don’t agree with me. Eight 記事 down and now there’s only one もっと見る article, which will be on the specials from 2005’s ‘The クリスマス Invasion’ to 2012’s ‘The Snowmen’. Thanks for 読書 and I’ll see あなた guys 次 time.
