because we could put faces to the characters names...and in the case of Four, what a gorgeous face he has.Thank the geniuses for casting Theo James!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read the book after seeing the movie, and it answered a lot of questions, but I had already become attached to several minor characters and was very disappointed by how boring they were in the book. I was hoping for some interesting backstories or something.
All the actors did a great job bringing their characters to life. For example, Peter is a straight-up bad guy in the books, and that's boring. But he's a fantastic little weasel in the movies, and it's so much fun to watch. This is one of the rare cases where the movie is actually better than the book.
I liked the movie but I still prefer the book. Maybe it's because I read it first. Theo was good as Four but I loved Four so much from the book and he wasn't what I imagined at all appearance-wise..
I personally usually would side with movie. I mean, who would want to read words on a piece of paper instead of seeing the actual graphics!? Apparently, me in this case. I loved to imagine and build mental images in my mind. With a book, you can make Tris look like however she wants, or the compound may look like a cozy place with fire sizzling and you could just read on the chairs by the coffee table. Ok. Now I'm babbling.
