	ladyhadhafang picked When I was little I was so scared of the part where Jafar turns into the snake: Regarding Ariel... even looking at it again, I wouldn't say she was selfish; I think it was just, to quote TV Tropes, "the enthusiasm of a thousand passionate actors and the common sense of a wet cabbage". I think the problem is that people are so frightened to admit the flaws in themselves that they judge others without thinking. Okay, maybe that's a little harsh, but that's my point of view. Yes her choices seem sort of selfish and she does make some bad decisions, but I don't think she is over all selfish. She is just like anybody else who wants to reach their dream. And you have to admit you might will end up doing something kind of selfish to try to get what you want. We all do, but that doesn't mean everyone of us is completely selfish. We're just humans who have a dream or desire for something. It's part of our nature. And sometimes you might have to sacrifice somethings to reach your dream. Ariel leaving her family and home behind for a new life on land isn't like her murdering her family to get what she wants. She's just moving. It's not like she can't see her family when she wants. It's just like a teenager moving away from home to start on their own life or getting a dream job of theirs. Ariel isn't my top favorite princess, but I will support her effort on trying to achieve her dream. Plus, I don't think Ariel is completely spoiled either. Yes, she is a princess, but her father is very overprotected and barely lets her do anything fun like going to the surface and collecting human objects. Plus, she doesn't get away on getting in trouble either. If she is really spoiled she would get away with anything and get anything she wants. She really doesn't. She's just a rebellious teen, because she doesn't get to do anything she wants. I don't blame her being the way she is. I would too if I was force to do everything my parents told me. posted １年以上前.
