They both are a little selfish.

Noone is selfish.This is so hard.Pocahontas was about to be killed for him and John Smith ..I can't believe that he wins this one.Hell,he took a bullet for Pocahontas' father,he saved his best friend twice.So..noone

The only part of John I see selfish is the part he felt people different then his own kind should be tamed like the land and claim whatever land he lands on.Now that part of him he was selfish that was until he met Pocahontas and she opened up his eyes to the world around him.But that's the only bad part of John,for the rest time he wasn't really selfish.He did after all saved his best friend more then once,risked his life more the once to save Pocahontas(what I mean is he was willing to give up his life for her).John wasn't really selfish in this movie,but showed more so in the sequel at the end when he choosed his ship over Pocahontas,but that's Disneys fault for making a crappy sequel anyways,not really his if you get techsinal about it!

I don't think any of them is selfish... Pocahontas was willing to die for him and he risked his life twice to save Thomas and once to save Pocahontas' father, so neither of them do what's best for themselves.
