jasmine at leats could walk around the place ,Rapunzel had one frikin tower

I agree with lililc. Jasmine may have had to stay within the palace walls, but that palace must have been at least five times bigger then Rapunzel's tower, which can make a difference. Also, Jasmine could go outside and sit in the sun, Rapunzel could..... sit on the window sill.

As for Belle, I don't feel like she was as trapped as she (and the movie) acted like.

She was stay in a tower with only one room and she can see the outside only with standing near the window.

At least Jasmine's palace way bigger than Rapunzel's tower and not only stay in one room. Also she can go to the palace's park. Belle isn't trapped anyway, she is more like to be boring to live in a village with annoying villagers, in her opinion of course.

With the others, it's no comparison.

Belle could leave if she really wanted. Jasmine has an entire palace to herself and is surrounded by her father, by the servants and likely by other royalty. It was very easy for her to escape: all she needed to do was climb over the garden wall. Her whole subplot in Aladdin is so contrived that it's hard to discuss it.

Now, Rapunzel is a different case. Not only is she confined to the least amount of space out of the three (heck, out of all characters I can think of), she is also subjected to an emotionally abusive relationship that has obviously taken an enormous toll on her self-steem and worth, not to mention that her abuser is the only person she has had contact with in nearly eighteen years - for as long as she can remember. Her only source of information, besides a few books on geology, botany and cooking, is this woman whom she calls mother and trusts with all her heart, because, really, why wouldn't she? The fact that, in the back of her mind, she realized there was something wrong with the way she was being treated and that that planted a seed of doubt against Gothel's fear-mongering, is amazing on itself.
