She's basically a stereotype of the boring fairy-tale princes. She doesn't have layers, depth, a developed personality, or is even interesting. But she's overall a harmless character that I'm neutral towards. Being a one-dimensional character isn't mad, just means she doesn't have much of a character. She still has a personality but not a well-developed one due to her lack of screentime. Though I know her hardcore fans will come to defend her and say that a deep character she is. While that does get on my nerves sometimes, I still encourage them to do so and express their opinion. More power to them.

I'd say this, when you go down the list of character elements each princess has. She's lacking a few. I think what really keeps from being three is how she reacts to her whole life being a lie and the lack of exploration into that aspect of her life.

Why are these polls necessary? They're just going to make people mad.

If people aren't mature enough to accept different opinions, maybe they shouldn't be here AT ALL! Fanpop is all about sharing different opinions with everyone.

Oh you are just TRYING to start a fight with these polls aren't you?
I would just like to say that there is a difference between stating their opinion and making it seem like fact. I'm tired of seeing you trash her character and then try and pacify everyone by saying you don't have anything against her. I'd like to call bullshit, thank you.
Also, get your own opinion and stop parroting the Nostalgia Critic's.

^ Oh brother! I say in my comment above that I encourage Aurora's fans to continue sharing their positive opinions on her and you call that starting a fight? You're full of it aren't you? If you haven't noticed, I made polls about all of the Disney Princesses, so they're all fair game genius. I have my own opinions and if I had the same opinion as the Nostalgia Critic, I would hate a lot of things that I love. Get your head out of your ass. You think Aurora is a three-dimensional character, despite the fact that you admit that we don't know much about her and have to make it up, and I think she's a one-dimensional character because of that. I don't know or care what your problem is but you have to get over it. I'm entitled to my own opinion, as are you. So get over yourself.

She does have a personality, and more importantly, she reacts to her environment in a very believable manner, given what we know about her. The only thing that's really missing is motivation. I don't know WHY she agreed to go with the fairies back home. Was it a sense of duty, or just passivity? If the movie had explored that, I'd definitely label her as three-dimensional.

Oh my God! Relax! Just answer the question or just ignore the poll. He did this for ALL the princesses.

Once again, I think you don't understand what I am saying. You have every right to your opinion, as am I. BUT, you treat your opinions like facts and are extremely disrespectful about it. You have no tact, which is saying something coming from me, I'll have you know, and seem to go out of your way to word yourself in the most insulting, irritatingly matter of fact way possible.
You could say: "I don't like her very much I think she's boring" and move on. But no. You have to say it in the most inflammatory way possible.
In short, you piss people off.
Maybe you should stop letting your body be a hat and try and understand other people and their comments more. :)

No offense, but you guys really need to calm down! Like JNTA1234 said, KataraLover did this for all the Princesses, not just Aurora. He's not picking on Aurora, or trying to start a fricking fight!

@MelStrachey I'll have you know, fox boy (referring to your current icon), I don't consider my opinion to be fact. I state my opinion no different than you do. By that logic, you state your opinion as fact. Every consider you're just overly sensitive over your precious little Sleeping Beauty princess? If I was stating my opinion as pure fact, I would be telling everyone that they're flat out wrong if it isn't the same as mine. And before you say it, when I tell someone they're wrong, I don't do it in a debate form. I say flat out "YOUR WRONG!" I don't know where you got this crap out of your ass that I consider my opinion to be fact. What, do I have to say "in my opinion" after every sentence to make that clear. If I have to, maybe you're just not bright enough to know when someone is just stating their opinion and not believing it to be fact. I'm always open to other opinions and I don't want people to agree with me on everything, that's BORING! Get off your high horse. Also, you're one to talk about being as irritating and insulting as possible. I mean, you actually insulted asexual people by saying that it's because they're insecure. So I wouldn't talk if I was you.

Whoa! Personally, I think if you look close enough, she has a layered and 3d personality.

I do see the potential for a lot of depth in her character, and I agree with Aang_Lite's comment. But she doesn't get the screentime for that kind of development.

Aurora is so underrated, she isn't shown being brave but maybe she is nobody knows. The movie isn't based around her, she is quite mysterious.

Before fanpop I might've picked two, but coming here made me rethink Aurora. She's definitely layered and while I can see why some might find her boring, you can be three dimensional and bore some people. She has far more personality than pretty much any heroine in the original Grimm's stores where characters were more archetypical than realistic. She doesn't have that much shorter an amount of screen time than Jasmine but nobody denies Jasmine's personality (nor should they). I'd say she's about as deep as her or Anna.
