	Tygers_Eye picked John Rolfe: Direct-to-video sequels don't count! I know he really married Pocahontas in real life, but then she was not a princess and he was not a prince. While she was Powhatan's favorite child, the way her tribe's hierarchy and inheritance structure worked, she had NO authority and would not have inherited any land, positions, or power. The women Powhatan slept with and the children produced by him had no more standing or authority than anyone else within the tribe. This nonsense of Pocahontas being a princess because she's a "chief's daughter" is Eurocentrism, or European settlers and descendants basing THEIR idea of government structure (chief = king and chief's children = princes and princesses) onto the natives. So, yeah. He's not part of the Disney canon, and in real life he wouldn't have been a prince for marrying Pocahontas. Just no. posted １年以上前.
