Well, I'm a guy so I never wanted to be either. :P Also I wasn't a fan of the Disney Princesses at a young age, so I didn't care about mermaids (don't really now either) and didn't care about princesses (well I care about the Disney Princesses now, but not because they're princesses) When I was younger I think I wanted to be an artist or singer. Now I definitely do not want to be a singer. My singing voice is horrible and I'm way too shy to get on stage and what now. I'd still like to be an artist in someway, especially an animator :3

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it such a gender-biased question. (Now I feel insensitive.) I don't know, people often tell me about how all little girls want or they wanted to be princesses or mermaids as kids, so that just got me wondering what people here wanted to be more when they were young.

I never cared for mermaids, I loved selkies. Also didn't care for princesses, wanted to be a witch. Then I got into Pokémon and all reality got discarded to become a Pokémon Master. Then I grew up and... am still trying to figure out what I want to be. (Ugh! Why is reality so boring?)

Anyway, that was the motivation behind the question.

Well, I did dream about being a princess too, but the main thing I wanted to be was either Peter Pan's Lost Girl or to live in Wonderland. I'm still completely obsessed with Alice in Wonderland, and I love Peter Pan but not as much as I used to.

I also wanted to live in Halloweentown with Jack Skellington. Never really grew out of that one either. :)

When I and my parents went to a beach, I used to swim far from the other people and pretend I'm a mermaid xD

I liked Ariel a little bit, but I had a obsession with mermaids. I would've taken either one though. :3

I literally wanted to be a cookie jar, a burrito, mike wazowski, and I don't even know anymore

Being a mermaid was what I wished for when I blew out the candles on my 8th birthday cake. Sadly, that wish never came true.

OMG, I wanted to be many things. I used to change everytime back and forth. Sometimes I wanted to be a mermaid, a few days later I wanted to be another thing, then at some point I wanted to be a mermaid again.

These are all the things I remembered I wanted to be:

-I wanted to be a mermaid (especially when I was swimming in the sea or watching TLM).
-I wanted to be a princess when I watched DP movies.
-I also wanted to be a mystery detective (Scooby Doo), a dolphin trainer and a Power Ranger (The original ones).

Right now, I´m taking a rest from classes but I would like to be a voice actress (doesn´t matter if it´s talking or singing).
