No! She is basically the middle finger to any of the past princesses and to be honest I don't even think she would want to be a Disney Princess.

I agree with LatinoLollipops for her not wanting to be apart of the Disney Princesses.

I think she would make a great princess! she's tough, courageous, and she takes no crap from anybody, she stands up for herself and is not afraid to speak what's on her mind. I have nothing against the other princesses- I just think Merida is more superior than them in many ways which is what makes her different from the rest of the crowd- much like our forgotten princess Mulan who I believe should either be taken out the line-up or given more attention. I say we give her a chance and see what happens and I have no doubt that Merida will do bad for Disney.

*Sighs* I just don't want them to cover her in glitter, but I do NOT think she is a middle finger to the past princesses. Each princess is different. Just because she is rebellious and doesn't want to get married doesn't mean she is a middle finger to the past princesses. She's just the first one not to end up with a guy. Did anyone complain this much before about Tiana or Rapunzel having modern personalities?
