So this is why Washington Post was banned from Trump/Spicer's press conferences. As well as non-partisan fact-checking services like Politico.

Because they conduct journalism as it's meant to be - by examining the truthfulness of political statements, by informing the public regardless of resulting ire or intimidation from politicians, by keeping the government accountable to the people. Ultimately, by upholding the role of the independent press as one of the cornerstones of democratic system.

Just notice the new addition to the Washington Post banner: "Democracy Dies in Darkness". So sad, and true.

I don't believe Trump is fascist or that the US will come anywhere close to that. For one, the American system of checks and balances is very robust. But he does seem to have realised the worth of their methods, and utilises some of them to great effect. Cast an eye over the link. Again, NOT saying he's a fascist, because he's not - merely that his political techniques are far more authoritarian than is common in the western world.

Edit: after reading link, I regret that I worded "NOT a fascist" so strongly. It is possible he's a link.
