My eyes fluttered open to the sound of clicks and clatters around my feet. I was sitting in an old white chair, it was as dirty as my clothes, または rags as I call them. A young doctor knelt at my feet, fiddling with the chair leg.
“Dr. Cartridge?”
The man’s eyes met mine and in that instant, I could see the fear flash within them.
“Dr. Cartridge, is something wrong?”
“Ms. Lovett, I-” was all he was able to muster.
I watched him intently as his gaze immediately went back to the bottom of my legs. He strapped my ankles to the legs of the chair rather firmly.
“Dr. Cartridge…” I didn’t know what was going on, but I had a feeling that he did. “what’s happening?”
He doesn’t answer me. Instead, he runs out of the room. He was fast, または so I’ve noticed, but only when something was intensely wrong.
“She’s awake!” I heard him practically scream down the dark hallways. “She’s up! She’s awake!”
Frightened at the tone of his voice, I tried to get up from my シート, 座席 but failed. Not only were my feet strapped in tightly, but my wrists and stomach as well. I could fell my throat tense up as tears threatened to trickle down my cheeks. I’ve never been in a もっと見る frightening place.
“Ah, Ms. Lovett,” A man’s squeaky voice 発言しました as he entered the room, the frightened Dr. カートリッジ hiding behind him. This doctor is one I’ve only seen about twice before. He was a very scrawny man with greasy white hair and bloodshot eyes.
“Dr. Payne?” I sniffed, wishing that I could 移動する my hands to wipe away the tears that have made their way from my eyes. Of course this man was named Dr. Payne…or Pain as I spelled it. He looks so innocent until あなた make one slip up….Then…Well…Let’s just say that he enjoys causing much pain.
Dr. Payne smirked when he saw my condition. “Oh dear,” he began in his most compassionate tone, (which wasn’t very compassionate) “Whatever is the matter? Terrible dreams again?”
I couldn’t stand him. The last time he came to “check in” he was just as sarcastic.
“Why am I strapped in this infernal thing, Dr. Payne?” I questioned in a deep tone.
Both doctors laughed as Dr. Payne inched his way over to my chair.
“Dr. cartridge,” he said, “Have あなた ever seen a もっと見る naïve yet mentally disturbed young girl?”
カートリッジ just shook his head and stared at the floor. “No sir, I haven’t.”
“Nor have I….”
He always did this to me. Every time I saw this man he’d talk about me as if I weren’t even present in the room! Sometimes it made me wonder whether I was really here または if it were just all in my head…I figment of my imagination, so to speak.
“You have failed to answer my question, Dr Payne!” I yelled. I could feel the anger literally boiling up inside of me with every breath I took.
“You shouldn‘t ask 質問 あなた know the 回答 to, it‘s not polite” The doctor spat in my face. “Even after the murder of your parents あなた believe あなた should be set free? Ha! あなた are in this place for the security of others! あなた are the cause of the death of your parents, あなた ignorant little b*tch!”
“I didn’t kill my father! I didn’t kill my mother! And I most certainly didn’t set my own house to flames!” I cried out in rage.
“But where were あなた when they needed you? Sleeping in your room no doubt! あなた smelled the smoke didn’t you? But did あなた take action? No! あなた didn’t even make an attempt to rescue your family until it was too late! They cried out for あなた but あなた never came, and ended up dieing for their troubles!”
“I know the truth!” I 発言しました with a shaky voice. “I’m not mad…I-I didn’t kill my family! I’m innocent! I’m not insane.. I-I mean not guilty! My head is fine…I-”
“Am not mentally stable?”
This time, a woman’s voice spoke. I blinked tears clear of my vision, but could still only see a blurred vision of a woman standing beside me.
I stared at her in shock. She was not there five 秒 ago! I glanced around the room and realized I was no longer in a little white chair. I was on the floor, in a padded square room which was barely big enough to fit the woman and I.
“I’m fine!” I screamed, honestly I was beginning to wonder if that statement were true.
“Of course あなた are dear.” the woman replied as she gazed at me blankly. “Why else would あなた be in a padded room?”
“Who are you?! How did I get here?! What the hell is going on-”
“Who am I? I’m your nurse dear.”
I looked at the woman standing before me. She was a nurse…but…I’ve never seen her before.
“where’s Dr. Cartridge? Dr. Payne?”
The nurse looked puzzled. “Ms. Lovett, Dr. Payne retired some years ago…And Dr. カートリッジ was sent to work in Switzerland…About some five months ago, I believe-”
“No! That’s not true!” Now I was very frightened. “Y-You’re lying! I was just speaking to them!”
“Dear,” The nurse began to protest. I saw the worry and fear written all over her face. It scared me so much. “You weren’t speaking to either doctor….You were here the whole time…”
“You’re wrong!” I screamed. “You’re wrong! You’re wrong! You’re wrong! You’re wrong! You’re wrong!”
I kicked and screamed and sobbed my ハート, 心 out, so much that it hurt. I had no sense of direction によって now…I was so confused, I couldn’t even tell which way was up and which was down. But I knew that I wasn’t crazy! I didn’t belong here! I needed to leave!
