These were the real Anastasia's favorite flowers. They actually don't show up in the movie but the violet color was used in 90s merchandise a lot for the background as well as the color of her imperial dress in merchandise rather than gold. Interestingly enough in the actual movie the flower that pops up most often is a red rose. Right before Learn to Do It, and then in Paris Holds the Key (To Your Heart), when Dimitri and Anya exchange roses. Anya throws hers away after learning the truth about Dimitri but he holds onto his and at the train station, the rose is what makes him go back to her and help save her against Rasputin.
