Dean sat beside Cas in the intensive care. Cas had been in surgery the entire morning and part of the afternoon. He was fast asleep now, but the doctor had assured it was only a matter of time before he’d wake up.
Dean wondered if Cas had been aware of what he was doing. He’d make sure to ask when Cas woke up. Which was a couple of 分 after.
“Hi, there” Dean mumbled softly when Cas opened his eyes. “You scared the hell out of me, man”

They were going to put him away. In any other circumstances Cas would’ve tried to escape his unfortunate fate, but with Meg gone, he no longer seemed to have a purpose to fight for.
