Ch 1:
One Thursday afternoon, カケス, ジェイ McCarey was at his best friend's house. He and Bill Thompson were sitting on the ソファー, ソファ in the living room with the living room on. What Bill hadn't yet heard was that カケス, ジェイ was going to record his first CD with a famous singer/songwriter in a 月 または so. カケス, ジェイ had been talking with his friend he had first made first made フレンズ with when he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada when he was eighteen years old and became an Elvis Presley impersonator, Barry Manilow.
"Why are あなた so quiet, Jay?" Bill asked his best friend.
"Is there anything to talk about? I do have news, but I want to save it for when we are with the others," he said.
"Okay. I do know what あなた mean when news do occur," Bill said.
"I hate repeating the same news twice," カケス, ジェイ said.
"I'm like that too," Bill agreed.
"This news I'm about to tell involves travel, Bill," カケス, ジェイ said.
"Jay, did I tell あなた I do okay on travel? I only travel when I'm with my family, but when I'm alone I get panic attacks. I've never told あなた this, but I have agoraphobia," Bill said.
"You never told me that. How long have あなた had this? I remember あなた having asthma and allergies," カケス, ジェイ said.
"I know, but these are all the things I have, Jay. I can't help it," Bill said.
カケス, ジェイ didn't reply at first.
When he did, he said, "This trip I'm going on 次 month, but I'm not sure what the exact dates are when I have to leave for Vegas yet so it's not final yet."
"So you're still working on your schedule?" Bill asked.
"Yeah. For now. I'm still working it out with a friend of mine, but he knows I moved out here recently," カケス, ジェイ said.
"What about facebook? Doesn't that work?" Bill asked.
"I know. Don't あなた friend your writer friends?" カケス, ジェイ asked.
"Some of them have a フェイスブック page and some don't," Bill said.
"I understand that. It was nice of Marlene and Carla wanting to be フレンズ with us and Karen a while back," カケス, ジェイ said.
"It was," Bill agreed.
カケス, ジェイ looked at the time on the living room clock and saw time had passed since he arrived at Bill's house around one - thirty that afternoon.
"Bill, I've got to go. I'm eating at Karen's house tonight. She wanted me to eat 晩餐, 夕食 at her house," カケス, ジェイ said.
"I'm expecting Marlene back sooner または later. Don't forget she moved into my attic," Bill reminded his friend.
"I haven't forgotten. Are あなた sure you're okay on your own until either Marlene または Tina come back?" カケス, ジェイ asked.
"Yeah. I want to work some もっと見る of my book," Bill said.
"Okay. Don't あなた have your son to worry about?" カケス, ジェイ asked.
"Yeah. I have to pick him up in a couple hours anyway," Bill said.

"I guess we'll get together with the others again sooner または later," Bill said.

"I agree with you," カケス, ジェイ said, knowing what Bill meant.
