kbrand5333 Bradley mentions that in the commentary. Said there were several things he and Angel did that were cut because of the "family show" excuse. I'm paraphrasing, of course. Stupid douchebags.

ellarose88 It's very unlikely they will ever release those scenes seeing as they didn't put that in the deleted scenes on the final series DVD.

MISAforever Pathological need LOL but it does describe it perfectly. It is one of my biggest wishes. I can only imagine how beautiful and sexy those scenes were. But family show excuse is a lie. They cut it out because they wanted to show more 'Merthur' and satisfy their own sick needs.

ellarose88 ^ This has nothing to do with them acting like its the 50's Mckenzie, Joppa accurately stated the reasons why those scenes were not used. Nothing to do with it being a 'family show', rather it was because they wanted to show more Merthur and satisfy their own sick needs (mainly Murphy cuz Capps was a A/G fan but for some reason abandoned having a say). This was clearly made evident in that commentary for the final episode. Though, I've not listened to it myself, reading what was said about it sickened me and put me off listening to it or re-watching that episode for a long, long time. But it backfired because more people ended up watching the second to last episode than the last episode. Really, if they had shown more diversity in story-lines (like Arthur actually uniting the kingdoms and coming around to the idea of magic), more Arwen, actual progression in the Merthur relationship (not scenes to meet the sick needs of the slash fans) and the knights then this show would have been huge. The ratings don't lie and they backed the wrong horse that is for sure. They listened to the wrong section of the audience, who may be very loud and vocal, but not representation of the whole viewing audience.

mrshafiz1 Yes, it still hurts, talk about family show till we got NO KISSING scenes! What about back there in S2-4? We still got to see them kissing, the writers are the one who killed such a great tv show.

hapybeinginsane They killed their own show because they were too blind and narrow minded to appeal to the wider audience. I can't even think about Murphy anymore without thinking how idiotic and selfish he is, not to mention getting angry. Also, I don't understand why they don't release all the deleted scenes that they've accumulated when a series comes to an end - they're just sitting in some archive somewhere now getting dusty; they might as well use them if they have them (come on, the show's over - it won't hurt anyone!)

lilyjane820 if they want to do a family show, go to do cartoon version then. but i think they are some other reasons out there like they want to make arthur and merlin going gay. see gay is more mordern and fashion. peoples nowaday like gay and lesbian couples than straight couples on screen.! i'm not against any gay things but first of all, the plot must be convincing and to me, season 5 is very fake and forceful. and i think maybe bradley and collin were very displease at the end so they finally quit!

ellarose88 Like I said above, they used the 'family show' card because of Murphy sick ideas and not wanting Arwen to steal Merthur's thunder. There is nothing wrong with it being a family show, its one of the reasons I liked it. If it were for an older audience we would have gotten Gwen cheating on Arthur with Lancelot and Morgana and Arthur committing incest, so I'm glad they didn't go down that path. It has nothing to do with it being a family show considering the kisses we got from Arwen, Arthur making out with Vivian when he was enchanted, Uther laying Katrina the Troll down on the bed to have sex. It was just a crappy excuse for the lack of Arwen kisses and such. And it backfired badly...
