Very interesting and nice to know.

By the looks of it - she hasn't read the Twilight book(s). Otherwise she probably wouldn't call Edward Cullen charming and excellent, at least not so purely that. So I don't really mean the vampire image but the characters she seemed to not see too well. I find it...would the correct word be sarcastic... that she's the brilliant author of one of the world's most beloved vampire series and most of the vampire fandom, including the fans of her serie - go nuts over the Twilight vampire image, saying it ruins it or even rapes the mythology... yet she only says it's a tamer version of the vampire. LOL! Don't get me wrong, I respect her opinion. Besides, as it is revealed in the full interview article, it was never the myths that got her into vampires but the other truly fascinating element that actually does exsist also in the Twilight albino superhumans which I will never ever call vampires. They're just too human in every way for that title.

True Blood then. Well, I couldn't say much myself anyway as I've only seen the first episode of the tv serie and haven't read a word of the books but for all I have seen, I suppose her analysis on it is quite valid. However I am not one of those adults who enjoysthe serie. Not much for any element of it.

I think that's a very good review. She obviously thought it very unrealistic (which, of course, it is), but she also pointed out some good things about it, and she didn't just say " Oh, that was the worst written piece of trash I've ever read" or anything like that. All and all, I think that she was pretty spot on, because it's true that most of the fans are 10-19 or so, or older than that and not matured very well, but people like that look for anything as an escape from reality, and Twilight is a perfect fantasy for people who have issues with reality. Not to say that they're all like that (obviously I'm one, lol), but I know plenty of people who just simply like that books and movies. It's not written perfectly, it's cheesy sometimes, but it's a good story (in my opinion). And besides, sometimes a break from reality is just what I need. XD
But seriously, it's a nice story, and I'm not the normal kind of fan for Twilight, and I know other people know you wouldn't expect to like it either. I mean, look at the other things I like, Anne Rice (obviously), Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, lots of poetry, things like that, so you wouldn't think I'd like Twilight. Believe me, I was mad at first when I liked that movie, lol, but then I realized later that the only reason I was mad at myself was because I hate most of the fans, the ones that want to go find out where Robert Pattinson lives, strip naked and chase him down the street, haha. But what I'm saying is that not all of us are bad, and the ones who are would be the same way over some other obsession they came accross one of these days, and some fans have read the first book, seen the movie, and so they don't even know if they like it or not, they only say that they do because they "should" like it. In my opinion, you read it, or don't, like it, hate it, think it's okay, and in the end, it won't make any differance. People are still who they are, the world still goes round, and nothing changes in the world.
