Chapter 30: The End of the Tale

Chapter 28: Humphrey's Decision

It took two days for Kate and Humphrey to return to the valley and they were greeted happily when they arrived.

“You’re back!” まむし, バイパー exclaimed when she saw them.

“What happened with Viggo?” Oscar asked.

“He’s gone,” Humphrey replied, beginning to explain their entire ordeal.

“Viggo’s dead?” Stinky asked when Humphrey was finished.

“They’re all dead,” Kate replied. “Viggo, Robert, the survivors of the battle; they’re all gone.”

“It’s finally over,” Humphrey said, smiling a little.

Word quickly spread that Viggo and Robert were dead...

Humphrey was finally getting out of his cast and Leyla left to go and get him. When she got there, she almost didn’t recognize him. Because he had spent so much time completely immobilized, Humphrey was being wheeled around on a large, flat cart. When Humphrey woke up the 次 day, he was in a completely different place. For a moment, he thought he was back in the pack, but as he looked around, he realized that nothing was familiar. Chapter 5: Dawn of Destruction

Night had fallen and Claudette, Runt, and most of the pack had long since gone to sleep. A few オオカミ remained awake to guard the borders in case something went wrong, sleeping in shifts the whole night. “I don’t think this is over,” Runt said. “When Martin and I were taking Oscar to Sawtooth Cave, he told us about a man who destroyed his entire pack single-handedly. One day, toward the beginning of fall, Humphrey decided to 表示する them something he had been meaning to for a while but had never gotten the chance to. Humphrey’s life improved significantly ever since he officially became part of the Western Pack. Everyone was kind to him, the caribou was the best he had ever had, and most importantly, he was happy. So happy, in fact, that over the years, he slowly began to forget about his past. He forgot about his life in the woods with Arnold, and he forgot about his real family. In time, he truly believed he had lived in the Western Pack his whole life as his traumatic memories were slowly suppressed によって his new life.
