I don't remember, exactly, how many decades 前 it was, but I remember researching the famous comedy duo at one point. In a night club, Louis Cristillo was supposed to 表示する up with another pertner to do a comedy act. Being under his real name, he had realized his partner had not shown yet & he was due to go on.
William "Bud" Abbott was bartending that night and he was something of a humorist himself and heard about the issue with Louis' act.
Apparently, he agreed to do the act with Cristillo and they played off each other very well; Abbott being the straight man, and Cristillo/Costello being the sloppy, carefree type. Truth be known about the two, Bud was the laid-back and easy-going one and Costello, himself, was the driving force behind the scenes, setting up performances and acts at night クラブ and on stage acts. With slapstick being the main device that drew the laughs, Lou knew how to take a real slap and really could carry the weight of the two. That, from what I understand, was how Abbott & Costello got their start in the entertainment industry.
Where Lou got his named change, I do not remember right now, but if anybody knows, feel free to say so.
