What if Emily had Edward's role in Edward's Exploit? Let's find out.
Episode 13
Emily's Exploit
The Island of Sodor was having the biggest amount of visitors that they ever had. It seemed as if every person in the world was there, and Sir Tophamm Hat needed to prepare a lot of passenger trains for them.
One day, Emily was getting ready to leave Knapford with her two coaches. They were full, and she found it hard to start. She blew her whistle, and her wheels slipped as she tried to pull her train.
"Duuh, did あなた see her straining?" Asked Henry.
"Positively painful." Remarked James.
"Just pathetic." Grunted Gordon, "She should give up, and get scrapped before it's too late."
"Be quiet!" Burst out Duck, "You're all jealous. Emily is better than any of you."
"You're right Duck." Protested Boco. "Emily isn't the strongest engine, but she can get the job done."
"I've done it. We're off." 発言しました Emily as she slowly pulled out of the station, with her wheels still slipping. She had to take her train to Brendam Docks.
Bill, and Ben were delighted to see the visitors. They took them to the China Clay Works in a Break バン Special. Bill took one van, and Ben followed closely behind with another.
They arrived at the China Clay Works, and the passengers got out to look around. They had a good time. Then, they were returned to the Docks so that Emily could take them back to Knapford.
Shortly after Emily left the Docks with her train, the weather changed from a clear sunny day, to a dark rainy evening. The rain made the rails wet, and with a heavy train, Emily found it difficult to get any traction. Her wheels slipped dreadfully, her sander failed, and her driver had to drop the sand によって hand, while riding on her side.
Then, with a shrieck, and a crack, something broke. Emily stopped, and quietly sobbed. No one noticed she was crying, as the crew inspected the damage. "One of your coupling rods broke Emily," 発言しました her driver, "We took them off, so now you're like an old fashioned engine. Can あなた get these people home? They must start back tonight."
"I'll try sir," 発言しました Emily. Then she pulled, and puffed, and puffed, and pulled, but it was not easy to get enough power without her coupling rods being connected from the cylinders to the wheels. The passengers were anxious.
"I can't do it." 発言しました Emily sadly, as tears came out of her eyes.
"Don't worry." 発言しました her driver, "We'll loosen the couplings on your coaches. あなた can pick them up one によって one, just like あなた do with freight cars."
"That'll be much easier." 発言しました Emily. So, the driver, fireman, and conductor loosened the couplings on her coaches.
"Come on!" Puffed Emily. Slowly, but surely, her train began to move, as the first coach helped the second. "I've done it! I've done it!" Puffed Emily.
"Steady girl." Warned her driver. "Well done girl, you've got them! You've got them." And he listened to his engine's steady beat back to Knapford.
Emily arrived at Knapford, tired, battered, but undefeated. Sir Tophamm Hat pointed angrily at the clock, but excited passengers cheered, and thanked Emily.
Duck, and Boco saw to it that Emily was no longer made fun of about her having difficulties starting with a heavy train. Gordon, and James remained respectfully silent, for at least one week when Emily was sent to the Steamworks to be repaired.

It is now is the last 日 for exploring, and we wanted to make the most of today before packing our things. My father got intrigued によって a ボート ride around the lake, so he asked us if we would like to try one. We got excited and accepted his offer right away. Our starting point for the ボート ride is at the tourist center in Montreux, where we bought the tickets. The ride was very relaxing and fun with the calm, crystal blue waters and snow-capped Alps. We stopped at the Vevey pier near the town square. After dropping off, we explored the area, ate lunch, and bought plenty of souvenirs. As the 日 drew to a close, we took some last 分 photos. We rested for a few 分 before packing up. I sighed and 発言しました to myself, "I'm going to miss this beautiful place so much. But I know we will visit here again soon."
After my parents had finished their conversation with Dave, they told me that we will be having a 日 out with his family tomorrow. I got so excited that I almost couldn't sleep. The 次 day, we met his wife, Sophie, and their two daughters in the lobby. They were very happy to meet us. We then rode the bus going to Vevey, as the family planned to visit the Alimentarium 食 Museum. They have visited Chillon Castle, too. Although we've already been there, we decided to accompany them. It soon turns out that our 秒 visit was もっと見る fun because we had もっと見る companions, and we also had a conversation in the cafe while eating some ice cream. When the museum closed, we took a stroll along the lakeside, taking lots of 写真 and videos. It was a really enjoyable family 日 out and we had a magnificent time together.
The last museum for our tour is the Historical Museum of Vevey. This museum showcases the history of the city and its surrounding areas. It also has a mission to preserve its cultural heritage. The exhibits here feature Vaud and Swiss furniture, handicrafts, old weapons, medal collections, manuscripts, engravings and paintings of minor Swiss masters. There is also a room showcasing a local event known as "The Feast of the Brotherhood of Winegrowers", which takes place about every twenty years and whose purpose is to protect the interest of vineyards and vine growers. All in all, it was a very interesting museum and we enjoyed it.
The 次 museum we went to was the Swiss Camera Museum, which is located in Vevey, too. In this museum, there are exhibits showcasing the history of 写真 and film. It even displays some vintage cameras. We also watched a hilarious short film in the theater before leaving. In the following day, we visited the Swiss Museum of Games. This museum is just a short walk away from our hotel, and what makes it unique is that it's housed in a castle. Inside the museum were exhibits of classic games, from marbles to chess, as well as retro and modern video games. Our visits to both museums were splendid and we had a very lovely time.
Today is the start of our museum tour. We went out a little earlier than usual so we could have もっと見る time. The first museum that we visited was the Alimentarium 食 Museum in Vevey. Before going there, we decided to check out the Nestle headquarters and shop. Afterwards, we started our walk to the museum. It was a little far, though. But we didn't mind as we also wanted to walk によって the lakeside. When we reached the museum vicinity, we posed for pictures with the Charlie Chaplin statue and a suspended giant fork. The museum itself showcases the history of 食 and there are lots of interactive exhibits. There is also a cafe in the ground floor. An audio guide is recommended to make the most of your visit, so I got one for free at the ticket booth. In the end, it was another educational and enjoyable experience for us.
The first historical place that we visited is the Chillon Castle, または the "Château de Chillon", as it is locally called. I was excited for this, as I will be going inside a 城 for the very first time. I've always been fascinated によって them. My father also took a break from his work so he can visit the 城 with us. We got a discount for our tickets after 表示中 our visitor card. The 城 was built on a small rocky island in the lake. We explored the dungeon, the dining room, the armory, and the courtyard. There is even an ancient bathroom where the toilets are simply large holes! Overall, it was a fun and educational experience and we enjoyed our visit there. Before going back to the hotel, we ate a hearty ディナー at a chinese restaurant called Beijing Town in Montreux.
After studying the mini booklet the past night, my mother and I decided to ride the tram bus going back to Vevey. We showed the visitor card to the driver, who then allowed us to take our seats. It was a relaxing ride. When we arrived, we went to a small shopping center to eat lunch. We also explored the department store and supermarket, where we bought some take-out food, チョコレート bars, and juice. After the mall closed for the day, we went around the neighborhood for a couple of hours before going back to the hotel. My father returned from his work and asked how our 日 was. We told him that we had lots of fun together, to which he responded, "I am very happy to know that あなた are enjoying the place." Soon, it was time to go to bed. Before I slept, my mother told me that we will be visiting Montreux tomorrow.
