Is it ok to fall in 愛 with your bestfriend?

Especially when they are taken? I know he has mutual feelings for me but he's stuck in a bad situation with his girlfriend... he still loves her but he feels that it won't last long but he's 発言しました that for the past 2 months. I know that's not that long but.. is it bad that we have a thing behind his girls back and he doesn't feel bad about it since she cheated on him several times in the past.
