An electric guitar? I'd start with a standard Gibson Stratocaster. That's the one I started out with. I now have a Soulbinder, but a Stratocaster is a good ギター to start with.

If あなた want an acoustic guitar, I started with a steel-string Western guitar. Steel strings are easier to play, since nylon strings tend to 'move down' with your pick more. That can be a bit annoying. I'd start with a steel-string ギター if I were you.

When あなた get your first guitar, always go for something that is cheap and not exactly precision, maybe even a used one. Why? Because あなた might loose interest very quickly, または あなた might decide that it isn't for you, so really, get anything.
