is it possible to pick up an accent from a TV show?

Because my friend that lives near my vacation house is convinced that I have picked up a british accent. I keep telling her no, its cause i come here almost every break i get from school, but she says its from some of the british tv shows i watch so now i say certain words funny apparently. so do あなた think its possible?
