I suppose you're right. It's not only 13 年 olds, though. Though, I do believe that children of that age tend to be もっと見る backhand worthy.
I think it's becasue they're getting into pop culture and the media. They see people on テレビ being dramatic and reacting in a way which would never happen in reality, thus appearing immature. They see it on televion, so they think it's cool. (think about all the middle school drama people go through. It's all Gossip Girl and One 木, ツリー 丘, ヒル stuff)
They eventually grow wiser and realize テレビ is just that. Television.
And によって the way (just an opinion of mine) I think shouting "HEY, I'M MATURE!!!" actually releavl the exact oposite.

I didn't. Well.....I had an obsession with Chucky the killer doll at thirteen years old (Don't ask) but other than that, I was pretty mature at thirteen.
