Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall has expressed her sadness at parliament\'s decision to bomb ISIL targets in Syria.

A 10-hour debate in the House of Commons last night ended with a vote in favour of air strikes.

Using the official Little Mix Twitter account, Jade quoted Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn\'s tweet following the decision.

Truly saddened and ashamed by the vote tonight. So, so sorry to the innocent people of Syria xxjadexx https://t.co/gdfskg2FgM

The leader of the opposition said: "British service men and women will now be in harm\'s way and the loss of innocent lives is sadly almost inevitable."

Jade added: "Truly saddened and ashamed by the vote tonight. So, so sorry to the innocent people of Syria xxjadexx"

While many followers criticised her stance, she also received congratulations for speaking her mind and empowering women.

"Thank you, even when men try to mock me for having musical/sports/political opinion," she replied. "Don\'t let them belittle you!"

Asked for her thoughts on Syrian refugees, Jade replied: "there\'s charity I\'m involved with called REFUGEE AID NETWORK who\'re transportin aid and winter supplies,if you want to help too."

397 MPs voted in favour of air strikes, with 66 Labour MPs siding with the government - including shadow foreign secretary Hilary Benn, who gave an impassioned speech in favour.

223 MPs voted against, including Corbyn, who had opted to let his MPs vote freely on the matter in the face of a potential split in the party.
