It was called ‘Ink Master’ Spinoff: Spike TV Series Gets 7th Season & New ‘Redemption’ Series | Variety
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Spike TV has renewed “Ink Master” for a seventh season, in addition to greenlighting spinoff “Ink Master: Redemption.”
Season 7 of the flagship series is slated for spring 2016 and will consist of 16 episodes, while “Redemption,” going into production this summer, bows this September with six half-hour episodes.
The spinoff brings clients from previous seasons of “Ink Master” who were unhappy with their tattoos back to the shop for a chance at new ink.
“With Americans spending more than $1 billion annually on tattoos, ‘Ink Master’ has definitely hit a chord with viewers and has continued to grow as one of our most gender-balanced original series,” said Chachi Senior, senior VP of original programming for Spike. “The show’s viewers are not only fans of the amazing artwork displayed, they are also invested in the human canvases and what happens when a client leaves unhappy with their tattoo. We have created ‘Ink Master: Redemption’ to help answer those questions.
“Ink Master,” hosted by Dave Navarro with tattoo artists judges Chris Nunez and Oliver Peck, follows artists through a series of tattoo challenges. The fifth season, which wrapped up last December, was the series’ highest rated to date among adults and women 18-49.
“Ink Master” hails from Endemol Shine North America’s Original Media with exec producers Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh and Andrea Richter.
The renewal and pickup news comes about one month before Season 6 of “Ink Master” premieres on June 23.

Jason is the biggest asshole EVER. He was so rude and out of line to that girl on national tv that it is blowing my mind!!!! and yes you have the right to change your mind. What is his fing problem, he still won!!!!!! I can’t believe ink master even kept him around!!! He does not deserve to be ink master!!!! Part of being a great artist and ink master is to treat your customers with respect. All the other ink masters were very nice. Does he have any friends? I doubt it. I hope her boyfriend bets the crap out of him. I would never ever go to his shop, I hope his business fails. This makes me never want to watch ink master again when they choose contestants like Jason.
