It’s been a good 年 for sex. Between No Strings Attached, Hall Pass, and フレンズ With Benefits, it seems relationships are out and emotion-free fornication is in. Yet regardless of the somewhat stale premise, フレンズ With Benefits is as enjoyable and down-to-earth of a romantic comedy as you’re going to get in theatres these days. It really amounts to no もっと見る than a smartly cast version of No Strings Attached, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching.

My, my — a mild movie for moppets. Will wonders never cease!

At multiplexes in mid-summer, it’s nice to deal with small problems for a change. Especially for small children, who are not all that interested in the doings that beckon teens and tweens.

Thus the animated musical adventure Winnie the Pooh, with its brief running time (under 70 minutes), cuddlesome creatures, gentle interactions, simple plot, subdued charm, and casual enchantment. Pitched directly at preschoolers, it would, it just so happens, do nicely as a youngster’s first theatrical movie.

Deathly Hallows — Part 2 is not so much a sequel as it is just a continuation of Part 1. Rather than having its own three-act structure, Part 2 essentially begins during the middle of the 秒 act, which began in Part 1. If possible, watch Part 1 immediately before watching Part 2.
