there\'s a new set of revelations and reversals (read our full episode review here and our guide to the things we\'ve learned from it here) – and every week, the show raises a bunch of questions about what\'s going to happen next. Here are the five biggest question marks left dangling (like Brother Ray) at the end of Episode 7, \'The Broken Man\'.
It was particularly sloppy of Arya to let her guard down so badly this week, given that she\'d just betrayed the House of Black and White and is well aware that Jaqen has eyes everywhere. She paid dearly for her mistake, taking a bellyful of steel from The Waif that might easily have killed a less strong-willed person.
And yet, even as her guts are hanging out, Arya has the wherewithal to effect an escape. That doesn\'t change the fact that she\'s bleeding out and all alone in a foreign city, but it gives her a chance.
It still seems hugely unlikely that the series would kill one of its major characters while she\'s marooned on her own in Braavos. The fact that she didn\'t die in this week\'s episode seems to suggest she\'ll find medical attention somewhere. And given they\'re the only other characters we know in Braavos (that aren\'t actively trying to kill Arya, at least) it seems a fair bet that she\'ll stumble back through the Theatre troupe\'s doors. Wonder if Lady Crane knows first aid?
Having The Hound back is a particular treat, given the magnetic charisma of Rory McCann and the blunt physical and verbal prowess that the character wields. But having had his pride dented (not to mention the rest of him) by his tangle with Brienne, and having spent time making peace with himself under the counsel of pacifist preacher Ray, is he still the man he was?
Judging by that final shot of him snatching up an axe, the answer would appear to be yes. But perhaps his violent ways are now tempered by some understanding that there is another way. Ray\'s peaceful existence would appear to suggest that Sandor Clegane can in fact leave his hate behind. But before that, he\'s got vengeance to wreak.
One last job? We know how that trope normally ends for people, but surely the Hound won\'t be killed off properly before he comes face to face with his brother – one final demon to lay to rest. Both The Mountain and The Hound have already \'died\' and come back, and Clegane vs Clegane feels like something that NEEDS to happen.
A deliberate tease on the part of the writers and director, this one. We know that Sansa wants more men for the Stark army, but just who is she requesting them from? Littlefinger would seem the obvious choice, even if she is a bit narked at him for selling her to Ramsay. But the fact that we already know that he\'s on his way toward Winterfell with the knights of the Vale would seem to negate this.
Could she be writing to Ramsay himself? Appealing to his better nature would surely be a waste of time (given he doesn\'t have one), but Sansa is savvy these days. Perhaps she\'s got a plan to lure him out? Or perhaps she\'ll surrender herself back to him, with the aim of cutting the head off the snake before a war is even necessary. It would be AWFULLY satisfying to see Sansa be the one to end him…
An alliance with the drab folk of the Iron Islands might not seem terribly appealing to the Mother of Dragons, but beggars can\'t be choosers. She\'s in need of ships, and Yara and Theon can provide. While a broken creature like Theon is unlikely to inspire much in her, a strong woman like Yara may well be able to get the Queen on board.
However, with Tyrion on hand to advise Daenarys on what the Iron Islands are like – with their reaving up and down the coasts and their tendency to claim \'salt wives\' (which may sound rather too similar to slavery for Dany\'s liking) – she\'s unlikely to switch allegiance to the Drowned God any time soon. More likely is that she\'ll use them for their ships while promising to return the Iron Islands to them… Before turning against them.
Lucking out in an alliance with the most powerful character on the show, only to mess it up and find themselves on her bad side? That would be just so perfectly Greyjoy.
5. Can we give Lyanna Mormont a throne already? (Or another cushion)
has a hell of a knack for casting child actors, and Bella Ramsey is absolutely no exception, making her debut this week as the prickly Lyanna Mormont, 10-year old ruler of Bear Island. Ramsey\'s commanding performance turned what could have been a comic, throwaway scene into something with far more dramatic resonance.
In that one short scene, Lyanna Mormont showed more historical awareness, political savvy and dedication to her people than almost any other ruler on the show thus far. She took advice from her aides when it was needed, and took things upon herself when it wasn\'t. She was commanding and considered, and even if she only had 62 men to offer, her own presence on the Stark side might prove to be just as valuable as them all combined.
Hopefully, having sided with Sansa and Jon, she\'ll be afforded a bigger slice of the Westerosi pie upon on their victory (because they will win… right?), because at the moment little Lyanna Mormont is wasted on Bear Island.
Seriously – what\'s she up to? We wouldn\'t put it past her to bring down the entire Sparrow edifice by playing one side against the other, but who are her pawns? And what\'s she going to do with them? All we know from that Tyrell rose drawing is that she
