(The following is an adaptation of a video response made, spanning link and link)

I like the YouTube 表示する link, but I highly disagree with the link’s assertion that Dollhouse is misogynistic. I’d like to take this moment to address some of its points.

Anita Sarkeesian brings up the issue of how constructing a personality to have sex with someone would be rape because the imprint wouldn’t be able to give proper consent. This is actually explored a bit in the 秒 season, but she’s right because it’s not in the first season when the video was made. I would say that Dollhouse would have explored it in detail if they had enough freedom from the 狐, フォックス executives. They were kind of under a time crunch and had to develop characters and storylines while trying to explore various philosophical issues. I think it’s kind of amazing they got as much in as they did. It is a fault of the...

It is mind-boggling to me that most of the feminist blogosphere is convinced that Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse is antifeminist and misogynistic. Not just extremely over the 上, ページのトップへ feminists like link, but mainstream persons with whose opinions I would usually agree. As far as I’m concerned, Dollhouse is incredibly feminist, save only for some problematic sexualizing that was most likely executive meddling and not Joss’ intention. As many would have it, though, Dollhouse’s creation made Joss reveal his true Colors(色) as a misogynist. This is a mistake. The 表示する depicts the female character Echo fighting against oppressive authorities, and we are on her side despite many of the corrupt authority figures being sympathetic characters.

A piece of trivia often brought up is that Joss has 発言しました Dollhouse is not a feminist show. This is a misquote of some things he 発言しました at his cultural humanism award acceptance link. He brought up an 記事 criticizing Dollhouse...

Really, why did あなた hold this one out on us, come on! This is the quality I wanted, probably for the past two seasons. Arggh, this was actually a cool idea for a series and they blew it! I want to have もっと見る episodes of this series, I don't know what the 前 episodes were about, but this one was clear about the exact quality in producing, action and the 芝居 によって Eliza Dushku was unbelievable! This is the Dollhouse we want. Why did あなた wait until now to give us this one, why!

As あなた probably gathered from the ranting above, I was a bit disappointed によって this one, and not in the 'this episode sucked' way, but in the 'this episode flew through the hills and now the series is being canceled' kind of way. Whedon should have started from scratch for Season two, he should have used the same style of this episode and portray possible flashbacks, anything better than what he gave us.

This was his plan all along, I knew it, he wanted us to give poor reviews and poor コメント and he wanted us to criticize until we begged for a cancellation, his end game would be to shove it to us "You see, this is what あなた are going to be missing out on, I had good ideas", but...

Promotional image of Echo as her dominatrix imprint
Dollhouse has an odd relationship with elements of S&M (sadism and masochism), または もっと見る broadly BDSM (bondage and discipline, domination and submission, sadism and masochism; kinky stuff). The general premise of the 表示する seems to involve elements of such nature, specifically a structure characteristic of the dominant/submissive model. The 表示する has included scenes of bondage as well as a dominatrix character that briefly goes over the philosophies of BDSM about trust. I have some familiarity with the subject, and while I’m glad for the inclusion of a sadomasochistic character, which makes the subject just a little bit もっと見る mainstream, I do have some issues with how the character is portrayed.

First of all, I do want to point out just how much the whole Dollhouse reminds me of some BDSM fantasy. It’s a place where people sign on, もっと見る または less willingly, to essentially be sex slaves officially called Actives but もっと見る often than not called Dolls. Each of the ドール is artificially made docile in a creepy chair and is assigned a handler who manages them with a strong edge of authority. The Dollhouse employees have their own hierarchy and are administrated by...

I am so conflicted about Boyd being the founder of Rossum. A part of me absolutely loathes it. Another part of me has to admire it's brilliance.

From the beginning, the very first episode of season 1, I loved Boyd. Each episode after that just made me 愛 him more. His protective attitude towards Echo struck a chord with me. In a sea of immorality, he seemed to be a beacon of decency. Although I knew that he wasn't a saint によって any means; after all, he worked at the Dollhouse (something had to have led to him being there). Never for one 秒 did I consider the possibility that his secret would be unforgivable.

When I realized that everything that I thought was "Boyd" was a lie, I felt as betrayed as Echo. I know that Joss loves to twist the knife, but I wonder if he's twisted it too far this time. I forgave him for many deaths; Tara's, Anya's, even Wash's. But he didn't just kill Boyd- he took away the character. He perverted him into something completely different. How can I watch the episodes that came before without his betrayal screaming in my head?

Sometimes it takes a little crazy to truly spell Nuts and boy oh boy was Alpha missed here. Who knew out of all the tasks Victor could perform, he could also play crazy. Out of all the psycho Luney, Echo was the least believable, probably because Echo has taken on a personality of her own, even in her imprinted state she still goes back to Echo format.

At least we know for sure that Dr. Saunders is not forgotten and that DeWitt is probably making it her goal to get her back, but it isn't really her first priority.

Among the silly in 'Belle Chose' Victor's attempt to dance like a girl came off disturbing. He presented himself もっと見る like a man trying to dance like a girl as opposed to a girl dancing like a girl. Didn't he realize his change in body chemistry?

From the onset of 'Instinct' and Eliza Dushku's stellar performance, I expected 'Belle Chose' to up a grade, but it presented a certain mediocrity to it. I did appreciate the guest stars who resembled the actual manikin, but they out numbered Echo and could have easily taken her down.

There are very few chances where あなた get to take a child away from a loving mother's arms, without leaving with a few scratches and scars along the way.

Dollhouse used the value of motherhood and parenthood on a different level that actually had me marveled at the sight of Echo willing and able to breastfeed a child she didn't even carry herself. What I found most fascinating was the fact that she truly believed she was a mother at heart.

The writers outdid themselves this time with a moving theme in 'Instinct'. Eliza Dushku was able to capture the true emotions of what it would feel like to have your child ripped away from you, especially if あなた believed they were in danger.

How many fathers would be willing to pay the Dollhouse a load some of money for a strange woman to become your child's mother? 与えられた the details of his wife's passing during childbirth gave もっと見る clarity to the plot, but how long would that engagement be; up until the child was old enough to take care of their selves または until the father loved his child.

Dr. Saunders pursues a freaked out Topher
So, Dollhouse recently started its 秒 season with the episode “Vows”. The episode was enjoyable overall. However, one thing I found a little disturbing with the plot (more than the usual, I mean) was a scene where Dr. Saunders attempts to force herself on Topher. It seems like a clear case of sexual assault to me, but the 表示する doesn’t present it as such. I’m guessing that despite Joss’s extreme coolness, the female character is not seen as threatening because of sexist gender role concepts.

The scene starts with Topher asleep on the floor of a computer room. Dr. Saunders, wearing a skimpy outfit, lies down 次 to him. She starts fondling him below the waist and kisses him, which he seems into… Then he wakes up and freaks out. He pushes her away, saying he doesn’t want to have sex with her. She points out his physical arousal as supposed proof that he really wants it. He says that the genital area is sensitive and would react the same way if he was fondled によって someone as unsexy as Fozzie Bear. She doesn’t listen, and chases him around the room. She kind of pins him a couple of times. He finally gets her to stop によって opening up about her...

'Do あなた Promise To 愛 Honor and Cherish Each Other For as Long as あなた Both Shall live'

Well do you? A lot of people seem to get asked that 質問 on a regular basis these days. The answer is sometimes hesitant especially the 'For as long as あなた both shall live' bit.

It wasn't long before Echo's engagement involved getting married - または so far we've seen. I wonder how many times has Echo been married?

I actually believed this guy was crazy enough to fullfil his life long ファンタジー of being married to the 愛 of his life and that he was actually part of the dollhouse, but it turned out to be all Paul Ballard's plan to bring down a mercenary によって making Echo believe she was a cop partnered with Ballard for three years.

Did he really need that stick it note to remember how many years they were partners? And did he really need to listen into the 'Post-Wedding' activities? I find it strange that Ballard is working for the Dollhouse, is it all for Echo and his crazed obsession over her?

DOLLHOUSE (s1 pic)
Season one of DOLLHOUSE (DH) was really good, it had me gripped to the story ever since commercials! I knew it'd be good cause JOSS created it, エンジェル was good, BUFFY was good, SERENITY was good, and FIREFLY was good! Anything else he made was good too! That's why I knew he'd do just as well on this new project! Picking ELIZA DUSHKU (Faith from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, Tru from TRU CALLING, and Echo from DOLLHOUSE!) was a good idea, seeing that we only got two seasons and three episodes with her in Buffy TVS! Eliza was great for the part, and the 表示する kicked BUTT!!! And once I heard that DOLLHOUSE may not return for SEASON TWO, I almost cried! Cause DOLLHOUSE picked up viewers from the start! There was like three hundred ファン here on this spot when it just started! Even before that there was one hundred! But, was it enough to keep it on air for SEASON TWO?
_________________________
YES! It was, they are doing SEASON TWO right now, and it'll air sometime 次 year! It'll be great, but there is just one 質問 going around still: Will The 表示する Last? または Will it end up like FIREFLY!? Well, I sure hope it will! Dollhouse is too good of a 表示する not to keep on...

Sierra being forcibly wiped
Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse is a 表示する about human trafficking and sexual slavery. Its themes are dressed in a science-fiction setting and the Dollhouse itself is beautified with its exclusive spa décor, but the show’s themes are as prominent as they are in the movie Taken. Dollhouse, however, contains the intriguing element of consensual slavery, which is what the Dollhouse’s management assures people is their business. In spite of this dubious claim, the Dollhouse has in practice obtained their Actives through coercion and it remains an enterprise of evil.

“There’s only one reason someone would volunteer to be a slave is if they is one already. Volunteer. あなた must be out of your [expletive] mind.” –Interviewed black woman, episode “Man on the Street”

Before it can be known what the morality of the Dollhouse is, it first must be examined what the Dollhouse is allegedly offering. Consensual slavery appears at first to be an oxymoronic phrase, entirely incompatible with our view of the world. によって its very nature, slavery is an involuntary practice, right?

Echo being subversive
Master storyteller Joss Whedon has become known for his strong female characters and throughout the courses of his shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly 全体, 全体的です themes of feminism and overcoming male oppression become clear. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, an internet experiment carried out during the writers’ strike, was a bit of a departure from his usual political message but still depicted a female character as the only one actually accomplishing anything for the good of society. His latest 表示する Dollhouse is in some ways the most blatant criticism of a sexist culture, but this has been curbed によって the ad campaign relying heavily on sexual objectification.

The standard format of the earlier episodes has Echo being imprinted with some identity that leads her into a situation in which she is oppressed によって a dominant male force of some sort. Despite her brainwashing, Echo manages to overcome the imprinted submissiveness and makes herself become strong, defying the restrictions put in place によって the Dollhouse. She is subsequently wiped of her identity including her experience of being strong, but some little piece of her...

Echo is implanted with several personalities, Alpha is still on the run without Echo. Dr.Saunders has joined the lengthy Doll list...

Some believe that we're right back where we've started, but we've learnt もっと見る than the pilot had to offer.

**We could finally put a face to Alpha.

**Mellie a.k.a November, Victor, Dr. Saunders were revealed to be dolls.

**We now understand Alpha's obsession with Echo and why she survived the slaying.

**Mellie was the first doll actually relieved from her contract (that we've seen).

**Victor and Adelle have a little thing going on, so there is a soft side to her
tough shell.

**...and well, anyone could be a doll.

What about you?

Did this feel like a finale episode for you?

Do あなた want Dollhouse to end?

How much do あなた like Alpha now?

Want Dollhouse to get renewed?
If あなた live in the US, this is what あなた can do:

Create a hulu account if あなた don't already have one.

Go to link.

Add all avaliable episodes to your queue. Right now, it's True Believer to Spy in the House of Love.

Click the queue botton on the 上, ページのトップへ right of the screen.

Click the thumbnail to play the first video.

Minimize the screen, and continue with your busniess. Hulu will automatically load the 次 episode until あなた run out of 動画 in your queue, または lose internet connection.

Wash, rinse, repeat. I'm not sure how Hulu counts views, but I'd definately do this once a 日 with all avaliable episodes. Do this with 狐, フォックス on Demand as well if your internet connection can handle it.

Other things あなた can do:
Eメール 狐, フォックス (askfox@fox.com) and tell them あなた watch Dollhouse live (even though it is SO INCONVENIENT to do so on Fridays.) Here's what あなた want to convince them of:

As I have been watching the 表示する link on link I can’t help but be reminded of the 表示する from the 90s called link. While the premises of the shows appear totally different, when あなた take closer look at the shows あなた will seem that there are many similarities. These similarities lead me to believe that Jared, from link, is the first Doll.

On link people sign their lives over to the Rossom Corporation for a specific amount of time, during which they have their memories and personalities removed. These people, called Actives または Dolls, are kept in a utopian society where everything is taken care of for them. The facility where the Actives are housed is called the Dollhouse, which is like a four 星, つ星 resort. The ドール at the Dollhouse have agreed to undergo this process, having signed contracts that dictate payment and the duration of their stay. The Dollhouse rents...
