I definitely see what you mean, princesslullaby. She's come off that way to me as well. Like, how she thinks she's so much better than the people in her town. I just think Jasmine is a bit more conceited than Belle. Tiana too.

I agree, Belle or Jasmine. I find it weird that I find Belle a bit conceited seeing as its the exact thing that she describes Gaston as.

That's pretty much the message I got from her opening song and reprise.

She seemed a bit selfe centered in her actions more then the other princess's, Belle and Mulan both wanted to help there fathers and the others wanted to help themsleves too but also others along the way. Ariel seemed kinda selfish in becoming a human and plus when Eric was going to marry Vanessa she just sat around being sorry for herselfe. Oh yeah and at the begining she was so rapped up in her treasure hunting she forgot about the concert

Exactly! I never got the impression that Jasmine thought she was better than anyone. Whereas Belle sings in her first song that her town is, "a poor provincial town". It just sounds conceited to me, like she looks down her nose at the townsfolk.

Clever people are always considered to be conceited, poor Belle...

if it's true, why not to say this? She tried to get along with them but they couldn't understand her, but she was patient, she just pitied that there's no people who loved her as she was.

I agree with princesslullaby. But I don't think of any of them as conceited really, they're all beautiful inside and out. With Belle, the way she tries to talk to the baker, is friends with the bookshop owner, and initially tries to have a pleasant conversation with Gaston shows me that she was trying to fit in with their routine lifestyle but rightfully felt ignored and offended by the way many people treated her like an inferior woman.

to me, belle was confident enough to think that she has more to her than beauty but no one would listen because women were meant to be seen and not heard. so i guess she could come off as the most conceited but she's really not at all.

Besides it's the people who ignore her, who say about her Look there she goes, that girl is strange no question, Dazed and distracted, can't you tell?; That girl is so peculiar! I wonder if she's feeling well!; I'm afraid she's rather odd... etc. How could she react?

She's ALWAYS at her dressing table, messing with her hair. How vain.

She has a bit of it in her (judgmental, etc.), but it doesn't overwhelm her to the point of being annoying. Jasmine -- a little bit. The TV series, for example -- in one episode, "Eye of the Beholder", she's tricked by the sorceress Mirage, disguised as a peddler, into applying an ointment that will make her irresistable to Aladdin -- but turns her into a snake monster instead. (Fun fact: that episode gave me nightmares as a kid) I don't think any of them are conceited, though -- they have a bit of it in them, but overall, they're quite humble, nice people. (Yes, even Jasmine. :)
