I believe that Elsa will be put back into the background as time moves on.
Now she may be the widely most beloved "princess", or one of them, but i´m pretty sure Disney will put the "Elsa-Success-Formula" into more of their characters, because they saw that she is loved so much.
They did the same thing with Rapunzel - Anna and Honey may seem to have their own personal traits, but nobody can deny the extreme "bubbliness" they got from Punzel...
Disney will copy Elsa´s traits into more heroines, develop them more than her and after we have three of those, nobody will find Elsa special anymore (another example would be Snow, Cindy and Aurora).


Tiana and her movie on the other hand didn´t become as successfull as Disney hoped they would be. People see Tiana as to boring or dislike that the wanted to be happy with Naveen in the end....?.....

So i doubt that we will see many other Tiana-like characters in the future, making her a standout character^^ Then of course she´s also the first black princess, can you tell without thinking or fast counting what number Elsa is for the white princesses?

Out of the options here, Tiana just stands out the most.

Probably both her and Tiana. I'll certainly remember them... because they were mean characters overall, and because of the popularity of each.

or Punz. Tiana simply because people have made her race iconic (unfortunately) and Rapunzel because she herself is one of the most iconic fairy tale tale characters ever.

1) She's the first black princess.
2) I predict that The Princess and the Frog's theatrical rerelease will be a big success in Disney's next Dark Age (which in my mind is around eight movies away from happening).

I agree with ZeldaFanForever! I was about to pick Elsa since she's almost like to be the new icon of Disney but seeing your comment, I changed my mind. You're right that Elsa's unique personality will be spread into other heroines just like Rapunzel. In fact, there are already heroines who are like her, Zarina and Maleficent for the example. Moreover it will likely happened if other upcoming animated movie beats Frozen's place as the highest grossing animated movie. Though I still think her Let It Go will be remembered.

As much as I agree with Zelda on the whole, I'll make my decision based on what we see now. Elsa is one of the most unique characters Disney has created and the audience (Including me) loves it. I see Disney repeating itself from it's renaissance times. It makes one great movie that the public loves (Frozen and the Lion king) give it one awesome character (Simba and Elsa) Give both movies an amazing soundtrack, and makes heart wrenching, well written moments for people to relate to. The public after both movies held such high hopes for the movies after them that anything after would disappoint the audience, leading Disney back to it's dreaded dark age. I hope to see Elsa holding her title for a while, and her popularity right now doesn't hurt. (Outside of Fanpop, that is.) Tiana gets barely a side glance from anybody.

^Ditto! If someone says Snow Queen, it will be definitely Elsa. While Gerda, Rapunzel, the princess who kisses the frog prince, or a Pixar heroine won't be immediately think the rest.

Anna and Merida will be forgotten in a few years, which is a little sad in a way.
