She's highly respected and popular as a role model... but as a character she often makes the bottom or middle ranks, probably because most of us Disney freaks prefer less serious, practical characters. But her merchandise is fairly popular (especially since she's the token black girl, which has gained her certain status in the Disney fandom) and she's the only one besides Mulan who isn't allowed to get criticized.
