I love Mulan, but I always found her a little bland despite her wit and the things she does. Merida on the other hand is a brat, which I love. :p

Why are they adding Merida to the line up.. it's just taking away Mulans individuality to me:L Oh well.. Mulan is way more kick ass as well as more beautiful <3

Mulan outbeats Merida anyday for me, even though I do like Merida, just to a much lesser extent. Mostly because the concept of female liberation and girl power in Brave seemed way more try hard than in Mulan.

LatinoLollipops and maryksand are right. Mulan is an amazing character in her own right, while Merida is nothing without her archery. Merida is a selfish, whiny mess, and Mulan is humble and selfless. They are both considered self-reliant princesses, but the similarities end there.
