As much as I love Faith, I would have to say that Buffy is the best slayer, not my favorite but the best. Hell the show is named after HER

I love Faith she's a great character but I liked her cause Buffy knew that had she not had giles and willow and xander to pull her back from the edge during her early years she could've easily become faith.

If we're looking at just as a pure slayer faith is better because Buffy let her friendship and family cloud her judgement. But the problem with faith was she left her jelousy of Buf get the better of her and if you look at Faith that is what turned her in the end. I mean she was a bad girl but in the end the thing that pushed her over was that she wanted what buffy had. Friends, family, and connection. Think about it, when faith became "good" in angel what was it, it was that Angel made her have a connection he didn't give her a choice. He forced her to connect with him. Sorry I had a huge debate about this one day with a friend and we started pshyco analysizing the reason that buffy hated faith so much.

i love faith, she is strong, independent and there is something about here that just makes the audience connect with her, however she is very reckless. While Buffy, who the show is named after, has more control over the situations, however she lets her family friends, and emotions get in her way. i think both are really good slayers, buffy is better in a lot of situations, however you got have a little faith..

But Faith is AWESOME too. Even when she's "evil." She was totally my fave character when she guest stared a while in Angel. She was the coolest girl ever! Love her there.

I didn't love faith at all, which is weird because i normally love the semi badass but very deep down you know they're good character. Buffy is the best, strongest, fastest slayer there is, it was said during the show.

She managed to get back on her feet after being torn out of HEAVEN you gotta respect her for that!

Now this depends on what you mean by 'better slayer'. If you ask me it's Faith, she has something that's really important...acceptance. She accepts her calling. Okay, she's not as strong as Buffy but she's got everything else going for her in the slayer department. Plus, Buffy has been at it three years longer than Faith. Yeah, Faith ran on the wrong side of the tracks for a while, but why was that? One word...Buffy.

faith understood taht her powers came with a lot of darkness attached to them. She knew how to tap into that-whether for good or bad.

a slayer is supposed to fight against the demons whereas faith went bad. a slayer is not just about physical strength, it's also about mental strength and faith wasn't strong enough to resist the dark side.

I think the fact that Faith went bad and tried to end the world kind of kicks her out of the whole 'being the best slayer' thing.
I honestly don't get why everyone loves Faith so much, yeah she was pretty awesome at times but that still doesn't excuse the fact that she killed innocent people and almost killed some of the gang just because she let jealously get in the way of things. She was selfish and cruel, and a massive bitch really.

I think Buffy was the better slayer. I mean Faith, was good, she was really tough and let nothing stand in her way. But she had no remorse for any of the bad stuff she did. She killed people, took up with the Mayor who was a giant snake. Kendra was good also but she was all with the kill and no questions. She had like no personality, with how she was brought up. So, yeah, I think Buffy was the better slayer, she cared for people, she did the good thing.
