When people think about their お気に入り superheroes and villains, it's important to remember the people that created these characters in the first place. Sadly, creators not getting credit for their comic characters was a common thing. For a long time, Jerry Siegel and Joel Shuster didn't get credit for creating Superman. As for Bill Finger, it took over seven decades for him to be credited as Batman's creator and to this day, Batman's still credited as "Created によって Bob Kane with Bill Finger". If あなた want the honest truth, バットマン was created によって Bill Finger. It is not my place to judge Bob Kane as a person. For all I know, he could of been a great man to his loved ones. However, I can 確認 that he wasn't a loyal friend to Bill Finger, nor did he deserve a majority of the credit for Batman's creation.
When people think about the Marvel heroes, such as the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, they'll likely think of Stan Lee. It's true that Stan Lee created those characters, as well as several others, but he didn't do it alone. Jack Kirby had a prominent role in creating the previously mentioned characters. While Spider-Man was created によって Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, a majority of Marvel's biggest characters were co-created によって Jack Kirby.
Unlike Bob Kane, Stan Lee didn't hog all of the credit for creating his characters. However, since Stan Lee was much もっと見る prominently seen in interviews, カートゥーン and films, people often act like he's the creator of everything Marvel's done. It has never been my intention to downplay what Stan Lee has done for pop culture. I just think it's important to know that Jack Kirby was also incredibly important and influential.
In the 2000's and 2010's, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's creations started getting もっと見る attention than ever before. This was because of the incredibly successful film franchises that starred the X-Men and the Avengers. While Stan Lee had a cameo in a majority of these projects, Jack Kirby didn't live to see these films come out. However, Stan Lee frequently brought up Jack Kirby in interviews. While most people will probably act like Stan Lee created all of these characters, if あなた look in the credits あなた will see Jack Kirby's 次 to him when it's crediting who created the characters. That's how it should be.
What makes Jack Kirby so noteworthy is that he worked for both Marvel and DC. Yes, he helped create characters for both. Zack Snyder's Justice League showcases the planet of Apokolips. Just about every important character from Apokolips was created によって Jack Kirby. The main antagonist of the Justice League film, Steppenwolf, was created によって him. Steppenwolf is the uncle of Darkseid, the most dangerous villain in the Justice League's rogues gallery.
Jack became so important in the comics industry that he started being referred to as "the King of Comics." It's a タイトル he earned.
If あなた want to know how important Jack Kirby is, I can tell you: Without Jack Kirby, none of the X-Men and Avengers films would exist. The four Avengers films are among the highest grossing films of all time. That wouldn't of happened without Jack.
When Jack Kirby passed away, several people in the comics industry paid tribute to him. I'd like to share the tribute that moved me the most. It comes from Superman: The Animated Series. The 表示する had a character based on Jack named Dan Turpin. Dan Turpin was a guy in the police force who seemed grumpy and distrusting, but deep down, was a hard working and caring hero. In the episode "Apokolips Now Part 2", Dan Turpin is among the humans that help スーパーマン stop Darkseid. Darkseid gets ready to leave, but not before taking Dan's life. In honor of Dan Turpin, a funeral is held. The grave reads "Earth's greatest hero." スーパーマン stays after everybody else has left and says "In the end, the world didn't need a super man, just a メリダとおそろしの森 one." It's an incredibly touching moment that paints Jack Kirby as a true hero.
Some people don't see comics as anything もっと見る than silly 本 for kids. However, Jack Kirby showed how important they are. Even though Jack Kirby is no longer with us, his legacy continues to make a positive difference in the world, every day. Before there was Jack Kirby, there were very few superheroes and villains. Nowadays, millions of people's jobs come from working on comics, superhero TV shows and blockbuster films based on comics. All of those people are in debt to Jack Kirby, the one and only king of comics. I can say, without a single doubt in my heart, that my childhood wouldn't of been as enjoyable または whimsical without Jack Kirby's characters and creativity inspiring me. I speak for both DC and Marvel ファン when I say that we 愛 you, Jack Kirby. We miss you, we'll remember あなた and you'll never stop being our hero.
