Stefan/Elena are just like any other generic 'love story' out there. They're plain, boring, predictable, and what's worse is they have absolutely NO CHEMISTRY. So while watching this absolutely atrocious 'love' story I have to do so with these incredibly forced awkward scenes. It's like watching a brother and sister hitting on each other, only the sad part is Jeremy and Elena do have more chemistry then Stefan and Elena.

But with Damon and Elena...you have passion. You have sparks. You have an amazing love story with endless potential. You have BUILD UP. You have LAYERS. Something SE never had and never will.

The writers know the majority, they know how they write Damon/Elena vs Stefan/Elena. They write Damon/Elena as the love story in TVD, because they know they're endgame.
