Inside the snow globe on my father's desk, there was a ペンギン wearing a red-and-white-striped scarf. When I was little my father would pull me into his lap and reach for the snow globe. He would turn it over, letting all the snow collect on the top, then quickly invert it. The two of us watched the snow fall gently around the penguin. The ペンギン was alone in there, I thought, and I worried for him. When I told my father this, he said, "Don't worry Susie; he has a nice life. He's trapped in a perfect world."

I am an ardent ファン of Peter Jackson's 'Heavenly Creatures' and rate it #1 in my 上, ページのトップへ 5 drama films of all time thus far. I was looking フォワード, 前進, 楽しみにして to seeing this film adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel - which I have not read - as it sounded like he was going back to his 'Heavenly Creature' roots with the story that was presented. I had read some disappointing reviews before seeing 'The Lovely Bones' so did not go in with much expectation but kind of hoping that the detractors may be wrong: unfortunately they were right.

Where to begin: 1/ I found the 芝居 weak and forced. Mark Whalberg was miscast...
