Why do just female animated characters have eyelashes when males have longer eyelashes in true life?

I would say that it is because females generally try to make their eyelashes appear bolder and darker with mascara. So some men may have longer lashes, but females bring attention to them making them darker and もっと見る visible, and アニメーション reflects this :P
